iOS and iPadOS

Synthesizer 12.0 is out, now accessible with VO and DirectTouch.

You can play it with a fretless sound pad within the app or connect a MIDI keyboard to your phone, iPad or compatible MacBook.

Turns your iPhone or iPad into a groovy synth based on additive, subtractive and fm sound synthesis.

One of the first synthesizers ever built for the App Store, originally released with the very first iPhone back in 2008.

Features:

5 main oscillators
frequency modulation
lfo
chorus
pitch shift
modulation wave forms (sin, triangle, sawtooth, rectangle)
attack, decay, sustain and release
noise
distortion
cutoff
delay
bitcrusher
presets
wave shape view

External MIDI Support:

The app automatically listens to any connected MIDI input. The app responds to notes, modulation wheel, and pitch bend in real time, while still letting you use the on-screen pad at the same time.

TIPS:

Setting Synthesizer up as a real instrument in GarageBand on your Mac will enable you to use all recording, looping, mixing, and effect features with Synthesizer. You can also create music for itunes or ring tones. Read GarageBand help for details.

If somebody wants to try it, I can provide some Apple promotional codes for download.

I'm always happy to see more music production apps and plugins becoming accessible. I was involved with testing a few so I'd love to try this one out.

Quick question. Is the current version in the app store accessible, or is this about testing a version for accessibility? Because if the one in the app store is accessible, I'll just go buy it.

According to my tests it is fully accessible with VO and Direct Touch. If you encounter any problems please post them here.

Great work on the VoiceOver support, I find the UI is very easy to navigate. I think the way the parameters are layed out works really well on the phone screen, where I quite often find instrument apps tend to be a bit cluttered.

I've gone ahead and posted the app to the applevis app directory which should hopefully give you more visibility.

Great app and great fun. I was very happy to pay the Β£2.99 as I like to support developers who are going above and beyond to make their apps accessible. Even if it isn’t an Even if it isn’t an app, I might not use. Well done.

Thank you for your kind feedback. I am very glad to read that, as this is an app I personally love to play with.

Since iOS 26 shows accessibility annotations in the appβ€˜s page on the app Store, it would be greatly appreciated to add such information in App Store Connect.
Iβ€˜ll definitely give this app a try later, Iβ€˜m very excited. As already said, accessible music production apps and / or plugins are very rare, so itβ€˜s great to see that another app is now accessible for VoiceOver users.

Thanks a lot for the hint @Manuel, I totally overlooked this. I have updated annotations for my whole accessible app suite in App Store Connect accordingly (HearLight, Sound15, Synthesizer, Lane Defender).
