Apple Beta Releases

Using iPad 9, iPhone 16 pro max and iOS 26 public beta 5. Recently I am not able to send SMS from iPad or if I sent text from phone which it works, it does not show on the iPad 9. All settings that suppose to work for SMS are on. Noticed that sometimes SMS shows up on iPad but when I think it is working and try to send a text from iPad 9, I get error message and sent text does not go through. Not sure if this is Verizon or iOS 26 issue. Did a reset of WIFI.

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. It might help to deactivate iMessage and reactivate it.

Just checked my iPad to see if the text I sent my friend went through when I sent from phone. The iPad showed on it under her name. When I will send her a good morning, SMS from phone will see if it went through on the iPad. Strange.

I'm guessing you have already tried this, but have you tried toggling Text Message Forwarding off and back on again on your iPhone?

Where is that? I had moved around setting on message and phone and never seen that. In General saw something about other devices and that is activated.

Went back to settings, message. Found it. I turn it on. Do not get it. text from yesterday were showing there. Will see what happens now. Thanks. It is on. Did not see it last time I check. I will stick to that story. I looked several times on it but strange. Thanks again, hope that will fix it. Will let all know soon.

Glad this helped! In my experience, Text Message Forwarding can be kind of hit and miss across devices and sometimes, things can get out of sync. I also recommend pulling all messages from iCloud as well (Settings> Your Name> iCloud> Messages> Sync).
