Does anyone know how to trim music in iMovie? I am a blind youtuber and I use iMovie to put my videos together. I’ve basically figured it all out by now. The only thing I need help with is trimming music. Does anyone know how to do that with voiceover? Do I need someone sighted to help me with that?

Where do you want the music to stop?

Hi, I have this question too. Not sure how to properly interact with the handles with VoiceOver or if it’s even possible. I have had some luck but I tend to hit a wall and can’t edit the music past a certain point. Is there any way to get the music to specifically start And stop at a certain point?

Hi there. I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to do, but I’ve noticed your name showing up quite a bit on some of the latest posts. Just a little suggestion—if you’re not getting the answers you need, you might want to start a new thread with all your questions in one place. That way, it’ll be easier for others to understand what you’re looking for, and you’ll likely get more helpful responses. I don’t know how many people are still subscribed to the older posts and tracking every update, so a new post could help. For example:
Are you trying to create a lyric video? Are you trying to build a slideshow, or start a YouTube channel? Is your goal to get better at iMovie? I’ve seen your name on several different posts, but I’m not entirely sure what you’re aiming to do. I’ll comment on this post for now, but feel free to reply or, like I said, start a fresh thread with everything together. It’ll make it easier to both ask and receive answers, and to keep track of them.
To my knowledge, there’s no way to start and stop music exactly where you want in iMovie on the iPhone. I don’t use the Mac version, so I’m not sure if it’s possible over there. If you’re trying to create a slideshow with pictures and music, you might want to try the Clips app by Apple. For instance, say you have a picture of a dog and want it to stay on screen for 5 seconds—you can open a new project in Clips, record the photo (just hold the record button on it), and it’ll stay visible as long as you hold it down. Do this for each image—dog, cat, bird, monkey, pig, chicken, donkey, and so on—and you’ll have your slideshow. The Clips app also comes with built-in music options. If you want to use your own song, though, it gets trickier. You’d have to match the song length manually with the images, and that can be tough because the app doesn’t allow precise editing of external tracks to line up with specific slides.

If you’re aiming to make a lyric video where the words appear exactly as they’re sung, that’s going to be even harder—especially if you’re totally blind. Adjusting the timing of each lyric visually would be nearly impossible without sight. You could try using a static image in the background while lyrics show up chunk by chunk, but syncing each segment manually would be time-consuming and complicated.
