An auto-synching app for audio description and subtitles that can be used anywhere!

Would you like to go to the cinema to see whatever movie is being screened, and read subtitles in your language of choice?

With MovieReading today it is finally possible! You can choose the movie you want, and the subtitles in the language you desire. Audio description is also
available.

No more old subtitled movies, screened at impossible times, and on a few screens in your town.

Soon all movies will be subtitled and accessible to you from the first day of programming or, at most, after the first week of screening.

This application is compatible with VoiceOver.

MovieReading Will Be A Real Good App!

I just wanted to be sure that everyone understands that this app not only does subtitles, but you will be able to also download the audio description track for movies and be able to watch them described for all those people who can benefit from this, such as myself. I hope a lot of movies come out that can use this, and it would be cool if this branches out to movies that are already out that we cannot curently see described, as well as televission programs.

Hello, I downloaded and tried using the app, a podcast would benefit me as to how exactly do I use the app? I tried listening to a movie but was unsuccessful. I do however agree that it is voiceover friendly but find it confusing to use. Thanks.

hello everyone, I have a couple of numbers to the big movie producing studios, warner brothers, and the studio that produced hunger games catching fire. let's all call them, and make them aware that we would love the two movies hunger games and the upcoming hobbit movies to have a audio described track for movie reading. My goal here is to get these two out, plus let them know that it would be appreciated if all future upcoming movies had the audio described tracks as well. here are the numbers you need to call. lions gate who produced hunger games catching fire is (310_ 255-3700. warner brothers studio producer of the hobbit movies is (818) 954-6000. lets all call them next week and get this ball rolling on these two movies, as well as all future upcoming releases. this is revolutionary technology, and I for one, want to support this app, and maybe get other major studios on board as well. please call but be nice, and let them know how much audio described content means to you as a blind movie goer. I plan on calling monday and talking with both studios. if anyone else does as well, please, feel free to comment and let us all here know how it turns out for you. heres to future movies with audio described tracks, and lots of enjoyable movies for us.

Hello, everyone. We are an audio description and captioning company that is partnered with MovieReading for the U.S. and Canadian market. The link to the developer's website on the post above contains general information on the app, which is available in different markets around the world with different features. For the version available in the U.S. and Canada, which focuses more on audio description than captioning and subtitles, this is the best resource to find out more about the app: http://solo-dx.com/movie_reading/index.html. Also, we wanted to make a point of clarification. At least two new movies come out a week in the Italian market, but not yet in the North American market. The first movie for the American market is now available: Philomena, which expands today in its theatrical release. We hope to have many more titles available soon, but as of right now nothing is confirmed. Positive response to the app will definitely go a long way toward convincing other distributors to make their material available!

Interesstingt. I know wgbh in boston does audio description. Do you think we could some how get hold of them and have them release their stuff, or what they have, the audio described tracks anyway? I don't know how this stuff works yet but yeah. I don't go to the movies but I do watch them at home on dvd and they don't have described stuff. Take care.

hi everyone, as for getting the word out, please call the studios i have provided numbers two last weekend on monday. I will also be posting numbers to the rest of the major movie studios for us to get a hold of on monday as well, thanks to hollywood access for working with me via email and providing me. I urge all of us who want audio described content in the US theaters to please contact the studios, I my self plan on contacting every one of them come monday, and ask that you all do the same if you can do so, but like i stated last weekend, please be nice to them and let them know how much audio description means to us and that we would like it in future releases in the movie reading app. thanks very much and happy thanksgiving to all.

All of us here at Hollywood Access Services used to work at WGBH, so we know them well. The MovieReading app is open to content from other audio description providers -- they just need to contact us. However, they would need permission from the copyright holders of the films themselves, and there are fees involved with making material available on MovieReading.
