All:
I'm seriously considering the purchase of a Traeger Grill. One of the methods which can be used to control and monitor this device is via the Traeger iPhone app. The Traeger website claims the app is fully compatible with Voiceover, but I am always more than a bit weary about such claims from the manufacturer. So, my question, has anyone actually used the Traeger app with Voiceover? If so, how was the accessibility experience? Were you able to set and monitor the temperature of the grill?
Any input is truly appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Trager Grill App
Hi there,
Totally not meant to get you away from a Trager, but also kind of meant to get you away from a Traeger:
I was in the market for a pellet grill a few months ago and landed on the Weber Searwood. The weber app is like 90% accessible. There is one section of the app that is a bit iffy but I've reported it and a fix is supposidly coming in August. We'll see if it actually does.
Anyway, I would bet that your okay with the Traeger app if your totally devoted to a Traeger.
Traeger
I have the Traeger IronWood XL and use the app. The App is accessible You can set the temp and a target Temp. However, one of the 1st steps is to ignite the grill on the touch screen on the Grill and this is not easily accessible. I'm experimenting with liquid dots to achieve this step. I made the quick start below for myself.

Use the Traeger app to initiate shutdown, or power down manually if needed.

Remove the meat.
Use a wet sponge or scraper to clean the grates.

Remove the grates and the square ash hole cover.
Spray the ash hole cover with Dawn dish soap.
Scrape any tray remnants into the ash hole.
Wipe down the tray with a wet cloth sprayed with Dawn.
Remove the tray.
4. Clean Lower Tray
Brush leftover ash into the ash/grease bucket.
Wipe the tray clean with the damp cloth.
5. Reassemble
Replace all removed components in reverse order.
