I use Finder in list view. Since upgrading to 15.5, I've noticed some folders have spomntaneously switched to column view.

For example, I always keep the Downloads folder open in a window. Right after the upgrade, it was in columns view. I pressed Command+2 to switch to list view. Later, I restarted my computer, and after the restart, my Downloads folder was once again in column view.

I've seen this issue before, but it has been rare. Never have I seen it happen twice in the same day. So I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks to those who have suggested I use View Options to tell Finder to display in list view. Rest assured, I did that years ago, and set it as the default so that all folders would always open in list view. The issue I'm reporting is that Finder spontaneously switches to column view -- something I know has been mentioned in this forum previously, and which has become more of an issue since upgrading to 15.5 (at least on my system).

anyone knows if the gpt messages bug got fixed in the update or not? Any other bugs people are noticing?

By TheBlindGuy07 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 - 22:47

@LThree05
It never disappeared for me?
For the OP, in the rc release the bug was still there although much more stable with cmd r after the prompt is generated solves it completely or almost. I haven't even verified if I am getting the update to the stable after RC or it's just the same build...

It was a new release. I downloaded the RC when it came out and I turn off beta. On Monday I did an update just to check. It show and I got it. Same for the iPad iOS.

Hello all,
I discovered a serious voice-related bug after upgrading Apple TV to 18.5. My system language is set to Simplified Chinese. In previous versions, Apple TV, like the iPhone and other devices, would default to the system voice "TingTing" for Simplified Chinese, and I could freely change this setting. However, after upgrading to 18.5, things have become very problematic. First, the default system voice was changed to "Mei-Jia" for Traditional Chinese (Taiwan). Even worse, I can no longer modify this default voice. When I enter the VoiceOver voice settings, I can still see all the available voices as before, but I cannot select any of them—no matter which one I choose, the voice remains stuck on "Mei-Jia" without any change.
I don’t know if there will be another official release of tvOS before September, but I hope there will be, so this bug can be fixed.

Not for me RC seems to be the same version... In any case no as far as I know the bug hasn't been resolved yet, just easier to deal with.
