For those who have a stuck update and cannot now open the app, have you double-tapped on the ‘Cancel Download’ button that should be next to Facebook in the list of available updates? I know it seems like a dumb question, but this worked for me (smile)

yes, i have done that. but it didn't make any difference. it still will not download the update.

Not with Facebook, but a few days ago with Shazam. It did eventually update, but nothing I tried in the meantime would make it happen. I just eventually gave up on it, checked my phone the next morning, and Shazam had updated.

The Facebook suddenly crashed whenI was trying to open it. I eventually ignored it and it works ok now. I'd say forget about ti for awhile and see if that helps. It's facebook, so it will change have no fear. :)

Yeah i could not get it to update either. I'm thinking to reinstall the app or just wait as it will eventually update. I have auto updates on so I'm not that worried.

go in, and tell it to update manually now. it's now working.

Hi all. I said something about the app not having a problem, how about i didn't have the latest one? ;) Anyway as someone thought they can keep this from happening again, i think it's Apple's end that might've had a hiccup or two. Doesn't this sound like something that happened with a few IOS updates back where no one could use the over the air, but fine on computers? If memory serves, I might've been in the itunes only camp. Anyway since the update it works ok now and no crashing like I reported earlier.

Every version of FB is worse and worse. The app is a peace of junk. I wish Focus for Facebook was still in the app store. Something happened to my library several months ago, and I lost the app. It's a sad day. *grins*

Yeah I just now managed to update the app. I remember that hick up. it was not fun! I'm not surprised all the other apps left. Facebook keeps changing their api almost ever 2 or so months making it hard for apps to even catch up and stay current.

I miss that app too. I had it, but when I tried it using iOS 7, it didn't work. It's still in my library, but it doesn't appear that it'll be updated anytime soon, if ever.
