Important News: Audio Wizards and A Blind Legend Removed from the App Store

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share some unfortunate news I came across. It looks like Audio Wizards and A Blind Legend have been removed from the App Store—at least here in the U.S. I haven’t been able to confirm if they’re gone in other regions like the EU, but they’re definitely no longer showing up on the U.S. store.

These were two standout games when it came to audio-based gameplay, especially for blind and visually impaired players. Their removal is honestly pretty disappointing. There’s been no official word on why they were taken down or if they’ll be back at some point.

If anyone has info on whether they’re still available elsewhere or has heard anything from the developers, definitely share it here. Would love to know more.

Really hoping this isn’t the end for either of them.

This is extremely disappointing! I don't really know about Audio Wizard but A Blind Legend is one of those classic games that is still so good! Assuming you are right then RIP honestly.

I agree, this is extremely disappointing news. Hopefully this is just a temporary solution to a potential software issue, and that these games will return soon. 🤔

Knowing Apple, they’ve probably removed those apps or games because of lack of updates. I know a blind legend hasn’t been updated in a few years, not sure about audio wizards.

I am very disappointed with this decision from App Store blind legend is one of the classic games and especially iOS doesn't have much games as android or Windows so Mac and iOS need to have more games for visually challenged

A blind legend is no longer on the App Store in my area

Doesn't the developer have to host and maintain the app on their own servers? If there isn't any income, IE, no one is buying the game, I guess they just pack up shop.

Contact the developers. Either Apple removed the apps, or more likely, the developer stopped paying the annual fee and the apps went away. This is what happens when we aggressively use DRM and allow software to be centrally controlled by giant companies that don't care about anything other than making as much money as humanly possible.

It's sad, but the Play Store is just as bad, if not worse, than the App Store when it comes to removing apps that haven't been updated in a while. But updating an app shouldn't be that hard for a developer.

I didn’t know that not paying the annual developer fee would remove your app from the App Store, though. That’s something that doesn’t happen on the Play Store or Steam. I always thought that once you released a game, you didn’t need to keep paying to keep it available, only if you wanted to update it.

Since 2016, Apple has run an “App Store Improvements” program: if an app hasn’t been updated in a long time (typically three years or more) or falls below a minimum download threshold, Apple warns the developer to submit an update within a set window (often 30–90 days). If no update arrives, the app is removed from sale. Existing installations remain on users’ devices, but it can no longer be discovered or downloaded anew.

For those on Computers, seems ya can still buy it via Steam Steam , for 89 percent off! For Android users, it ain't on Google Play anymore. You can find the APK (on your own), though I believe just like with the iOS version wasn't it server-based?

How many of you guys tried that game called RYFT and what do you all think about that game?

By SeasonKing on Monday, April 21, 2025 - 12:12

This game is such a big part of accessibility. I use to use it as an example demonstration, how audio games can be fun. I wish it comes back ASAP.
Interestingly, I thought I had it installed. Doesn't show up in my apps anymore.

Maybe it's just me, but Feer also appears to be gone, at least here in Australia.

I reviewed Feer only last December, and the author (somewhat testily) acknowledged my five stars (and my complaining) with a written dev response.

Now the game will not even run in stereo on my phone. Anyone else? iOS 18.4.1 iPhone 15 Pro Max. The game is quite unplayable now, which is irritating, because I have loads of powerups and points.

I found Feer by searching for Sonar Islands and selecting the developer. It was a bit of a roundabout way, but it worked.

As for playing the game, I just tried it with a pair of AirPods (2nd generation), and it worked fine. I'm using an iPhone 12 running iOS 18.4.1.
