The blindfold games are no longer on the app store

There have been games released from Kid Friendly Software by Marty Schultz. There were about 80 games there. Now they have been removed from the app store.
You can still get them if you have had them before but you can no longer get them if you haven’t.
I think one of the reasons was that a lot of people were so nasty about it.
I know that honestly those games were very expensive though they need a lot of work to be made.
I seriously understand why Marty Schultz decided to drop the games.
Some games I really thought was expensive were things like war and snakes and ladders where you basically just tap the screen. The snakes game had an upgrade for puzzles though. The barnyard was very expensive.
Even though people have been complaining I think we all will miss those games. I, myself, will.
Farewell, Blindfold games.

I am still seeing kid friendly software games on my App Store. I am in the US, don't know if that matters or not, but there you go. Try doing a search for, "Ears", games.
For example, the following link will take you to the, "Ears Farmland", download page.

Maybe that could have been part of it. I know games were being switched to Ears so perhaps they'r not gone.

If true this isn't good for those that want them. After all we did for the developer when apple wanted to force him to give it to us in a bundle when bugs were reported he couldn't care less. Not a dev I would ever support. It should be noted I have no issue paying for apps. Hopefully there will be newer better games that come out that we can enjoy for years to come.

I did try most of the blindfold games and they were a pretty big part of my first experiences as a blind gamer. I never did agree with the amount of in-app purchases, though.
Still, this feels like the end of a chapter in audio gaming. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.,

I will spare everyone from my opinions on these games, but fortunately for those who want them it looks like they're still available in Canada.

I cannot see any of them. I can still see them if I go to my account, the apps, then search for for example blindfold pyramid tiles I find it but get the result I know for other things that they are just blank when I click on them. I tried ”Ears” too but that did not work for me.
Maybe it is country based.
Blindfold Barnyard was changed to Ears Farmland a while ago and I searched, using this as an example, for ”Blindfold Barnyard” ”Ears Barnyard” and ”Ears Farmland” and it did not work but if I check in my purchases things are okay.

I don't know about the status of Blindfold Games these days, but several years ago when we interviewed Marty for an episode of Eyes ON Success about the games, he discussed a new venture of his called "Objective Ed", leveraging off the games to make education more fun and useful. Here is a link to Objective Ed:
https://www.objectiveed.com/company

Here is a summary of that episode from Eyes On Success:

1851 Blindfold Games and ObjectiveEd (Dec. 19, 2018)
Blindfold Games now offers over 80 fully accessible games made to run on iOS devices for the visually impaired. Hosts Nancy and Peter Torpey talk with Marty Schultz, founder of Blindfold Games and developer of the apps, about his company as well as about his new project, ObjectiveEd, aimed at making learning more fun for students through high school.

You can find the episode along with links to the audio and show notes by going to www.EyesOnSuccess.net and entering the show number 1851 into the search field.

If you are living in the EU and the developer decided not to set the trader status, Apple has delisted the Apps automatically. In the EU every seller has to show its complete address in the App Store. Devs who don’t want this can’t sell Apps in the EU anymore.

For whatever it's worth, the Blindfold/ears games restored when I got my iPhone 16 at the end of January. I almost never play them, but there are a couple I really liked. I think one of the biggest frustrations at least some of us felt was that the games were all separate apps; I know I know nothing about programming, but I still believe that they should have been consolodated into a single app. I remember when Choice of Games and Hosted games switched from having s tand-alone apps for every interactive fiction story to having single apps where all the stories could be played. It was a massive improvement, and I feel as though it's something blindfold games should have at lest tried to do as well. Anyway, I appreciated reading this post. I plan to keep my new phone for as long as humanly possible, but it's still good to know when apps might disappear should a restore or something become necessary. I lost only a few apps when I got this new phone, and the only game I might miss is Blinded Chef. That was a really fun little game, but it didn't come back when my phone restored. Anyway, I suppose this thread might motivate me to revisit the blindfold bowling and skiball games, at least for a few minutes.
