Accessibility Comments

This app has several accessibility issues, with some windows even being completely inaccessible. Some elements are either blank, simply text labels, or unlabeled tabs. Even utilizing Screen Recognition offers no improvements, and only seems to show the rest of the inaccessible elements.
I really hope Valve improves this app in the future, but I'm afraid for now, it still has a long way to go.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads a few page elements.

Button Labeling

Few buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.

I do agree that there are things that need to be improved o this app, but to say it isn't usable feels a little harsh to me. it feels more like one of those apps that you can use if you're willing to work around its accessibility issues.

Hello,
I'm sorry if it came off as "unusable." That's not what I meant.
In the Accessibility Comments section, I said had a "long ways to go," not that it isn't usable. However, it is good to note that I could not choose "there are some accessibility issues with app," as this would only apply to portions of the app itself. The ratings should reflect the app as a whole as best as possible, meaning just because some sections have issues and are usable does not mean the ratings are invalid.
I hope this makes sense.

Reading your post title made me assume the best, then I read the description and my hopes reached an all-time high, then I read your ratings and it felt like that rapid descent immediately before the loop, and finally I ended up totally disappointed, not about your post but about Steam itself, as they didn't even bother to add a loop for the final climax.

I've had a Steam account since 2009 I think, when a game called Just Cause 2 came out and when I got home with the physical copy ready to install and experience the craze that people were reporting on reddit, and the physical copy required the installation of Steam, resulting in yet another emotion rollercoaster not too different to the one I experienced with your post. After that I started buying lots of games on that marketplace, and by the time I went blind my library had over 300 titles that I can't even play anymore. In addition I keep receiving E-mails from them about games in my wish list pretty much every sale season, but won't even bother to install the client to remove that because the experiences that other people report on reddit make me not want to have anything to do with Valve.

To Be completely honest, I can’t say I’m surprised at this. That the iOS app has major accessibility issues; The pattern has repeated itself with the PC client, and the mac client, which is pretty much completely inaccessible as well. The reason why I say that I’m not surprised, is valve has already proven that they couldn't care less about accessibility; and yeah, the patern across various OS's illustrates this clearly. And yeah; people have been nagging them for years at this point... This company has shown where it stands on... Not worth it, imho.

Hi,

I just wanted to say that the PC version of Steam, is, usable. It just takes a ton of patients. I do not have very many games through steam, only three of them really, 1428: Shadows over Silesia, Mortal Kombat 1, and Skullgirls: Second Encore. However, I play these games as often as I am able, and I was able to Download and install them all through the PC version of the Steam client.
