Meta glasses boot time

When I first got my Meta glasses, I would put them on, and immediately here the friendly chirp or beep telling me they were on, followed immediately by an announcement of the battery charge. They came online fast.

Lately, this boot time has been taking longer and longer. I put the glasses on, and it's a full 15 seconds - yes, I timed it - before I hear the boot chirp or beep, and then another couple of seconds before I hear the battery charge. Anyone else experiencing this? Are there any tricks to eliminate the delay? I guess I could try doing a factory reset, but thought I'd check here first before I brought out the sledgehammer.

The only difference for me is that mine have always taken longer to boot, so I guess I thought this was normal.

As soon as you put the glasses on your face, tap the touchpad on your right arm once or twice. Not necessarily a double tap, just 1 or 2 single taps.
This usually speeds things along.
Also do not open Meta View on your iPhone until after your glasses have turned on. Otherwise, it tends to glitch out.

HTH.

But I never turn my glasses off. I just fold the arms up and they fall asleep after a bit. Then when I put them on they come up pretty quickly.

Not saying this is a good or bad idea. I'll be honest I find the power switch a bit fiddly to use as I'm never sure if I've done it or not, so this was just out of laziness rather than anything else.

I also tend to just fold the arms, and put them away in their case when not in use. Having said that, my suggestion above may or may not work for those struggling to get their glasses to boot up in a timely fashion. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thanks everyone.

I'm not turning them off, not with the power switch. But I am stowing them in their case. It's when I put them on after they've been stowed in their case. That's when I experience the delay. If I just take them off and fold them, without stowing them in their case, and put them back on, they snap to life quite quickly.

Whether I have Meta View loaded or not doesn't seem to impact the start time.

I did a force restart on the glasses, but this has not improved the situation. After being stowed in their case, they take a good 15 seconds of wear to come online.

This might just have to be something I'll have to live with until Meta improves it.

Well, what can I say? My tap the arm trip works for me, in that situation you described above. Otherwise, not sure what to tell you. I do agree that it typically takes longer to "come online" from being in the case, then it does just being folded up and sitting on a desk or table or such.
