Steps Google must take in the next pixel camera and look out updates to fix both

In the next pixel camera update, Google needs to fix the guided frame issues by incorporating all of the AI features that are found in the lookout app in order for guided frame to be more responsive. In lookout, Google needs to bring back the swipe gestures to change modes. Google can still leave the button for mode selection in the app for those that would prefer it, but those of us who were accustomed to the old swipe gestures for changing modes would love to see those return. I also uploaded a video to tiktok about this, which I will post here.

I've been considering my next phone upgrade being one of the latest pixel models. One of the things I've been looking forward to was the guided frame functionality. Sad to hear it's broken.

This actually is not on Samsung one and all the other brands you mentioned to make happen. Sadly guided access could be something that Google could hand down to all of Android they just don't they keep it pixel exclusive. They actually used to do this in the very beginning with lookout, but then they finally brought it to all of Android I keep hoping they do this with guided access as I think creating accessibility only features for your own device is kind of silly but that's Google.

when was this guided frame feature introduced? If it was introduced before October last year whilst I still had my Google pixel seven then I’ve never heard about it until now. I was even in the blind android users telegram group and they didn’t really discuss it either. but I’m pretty sure most of the demographic in that group i think was Samsung I’d be assuming, or some other Chinese branded phones. That’s just me though. Butg if I can get my Google pixel seven screen repaired then that might be a feature that I look at using. Unfortunately, the screen broke last year because it fell out of my pocket whilst I was going into the car to head off to go shopping with another person. Especially now that I’ve heard that Google has, apparently don’t quote my word on this, but has apparently, according to the R/Apple subreddit , added three more years worth of updates to the Google pixel six, Google pixel seven and Google pixel fold.Might be something that I find time and completely investing myself in.. Granted, I’m going Phone shopping later, so I may not have to wait to get the screen repaired pixel experience. Who knows?

According to Google.

Then again, I would always get sighted individuals to take pictures, on the rare occasion I had to take them, or I would turn talkback off when making videos, for obvious reasons.

Because talkback is such a chatterbox.

I specifically bought the Google pixel 6 pro. When I had it for the guided frame and the camera. It was replaced with the Google pixel 7 pro when my Google pixel 6 pro died on Christmas day in 2023. I use the camera app extensively everyday for creating both photos and videos. The reality is, if blind Android users don't provide feedback to Google on this issue regarding guided frame, then Google will get the message. Blind people don't seem to care about it, which is not the case, because some people like myself actually do use it extensively and on a daily basis. Yes, I know I'm in the minority of blind people who use it like that, but I do. And, for anyone who knows how well it works, it's quite revolutionary. In fact, during the baby shower that was in preparation for my son's birth, I was taking group shots with the help of guided frame on my Google pixel 6 pro. That's how good it worked, and I got perfect shots.
