Hi,

Have any of you managed to put a shortcut for be my eyes on your desktop? If so how? Somehow on my old laptop I had it on the desktop but for the life of me I can't do it now on my new laptop. I've searched google to no effect. I can't even find the full path name where it is installed on the laptop which is strange. As I say must be possible as I did it before. Any ideas please?

Hi Lee,
Type shell:AppsFolder into the 'run' dialogue. Then you'll be presented with a list of all your apps. Hit B untill you find Be My Eyes. Then hit the applications key, and find 'create shortcut'. Then it'll ask you if you want to create a desktop shortcut. Select 'yes'.

Yes Tara that is how I did it before. Thanks for reminding me!

If you're unfortunate like me, and do not have an Application's key, there is always Shift plus F10. 🙂

Does not work on my HP, but good tip all the same. Although, function plus right shift does give me my Paws/brake key.
Go figure ...

Could you make the subject a little more descriptive next time please? When going through the list of topics it's very unclear what this is about and you're more likely to get responses that way, instead of people just skimming past it.

I know this doesn't answer your specific question, but I've found that as my eyesight degraded the best way way to get to most things most efficiently was to use the Windows Start search. In the case of BME I just hit the Win key and then I type "Be" and it shows Be My Eyes as the first option so I just hit return and there you go. Actually, I use it so much all I have to do is type "B" and it's the first option. I find the Win Start search is my friend.
