Apparently you can do it, see:

Also this app.

If I really found the trackpad changed my life I'd buy one, but I was just curious if you could do it, and apparently you can. I thought it might be fun to mess with the trackpad commander if it works, because I'm still not sure if I'll upgrade to a Mini or MacBook. So I don't just want to buy an Apple trackpad, in case I go with a MacBook, no point in having one then really.
Two challenges I can see right off are getting out of the app on the phone, although I guess the swipe up to the app switcher must still work, and just whether or not it can function with the Mac Voiceover trackpad gestures, yeah I know there aren't commanders anymore in 15. Also possible gesture conflicts, if the longer swipe up can do something on Mac.
Anyway, I just got curious and it turns out it's possible, so I'm wondering if anybody's managed to do it.

You could always get ...
You could always get one of those Bluetooth keyboards, that has a trackpad built into it. 😉
@Brian
Interesting idea. However, I'm not entirely sure it would work. I've never tested to see whether trackpad commander works on any third party trackpads, but I suspect it might not. Would love to be wrong about that though.
