Hello applevis,
I noticed that when I open activity monitor and interact in the table of apps during this session, voiceover would randomly jump me onto the first app at the top of the table while my cursor previously at the 7th app or something. I am in Energy view. This happens in both Standard and Announce groups Grouping behaviour under Navigation settings, and the update frequency is set to normal 5 seconds. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I only messed with Activity Monitor once, but it did it yeah. FWIW the same thing can happen in Windows Task Manager. The reason it's happening, I think, in both cases actually, is because of the update frequency. That is, when it updates, it jumps back to the first thing,, or something else. Why? Think of it like this.

Suppose you have Firefox and Mail open. You run Activity Monitor. At the time, Mail is using, say, more memory. So Mail is at the top of the table. But then Firefox checks for an update or something, and now it's using more. That would put it at the top. In the case of it just jumping back with Mail still at the top, my guess is that something changes in Mail's resource usage anyway.

This should be simple enough to test, if you can set the update frequency, I assume so since you mention it, double it and play around with it for a while. It should jump less frequently with larger intervals between jumps. Anyway, assuming I'm right, naturally, the upshot is that this isn't a bug, as such. It's just an unfortunate side effect of what you probably want to happen.
