IOS 7 and Proximity Sensor

Since upgrading to IOS 7, the proximity sensor seems to be less responsive. For example, when answering a call and raising the phone to my ear, the phone alternates a couple of times between earpiece and speaker phone before settling on the earpiece. Also, when using Seri with the "Raise to Speak" feature, it never works. It cuts out in the middle of the command. However, Seri works fine when accessing it through holding the Home button. I believe this may also be as a result of problems with the proximity sensor. I am using IOS 7 with an iPhone 4S. Is anyone experiencing similar problems?

Hi. I don't have an iphone fourS I got the five. I went from a four but that's beside the point. Te four S's seem tohave little quirks all on their own. I helped a friend and her phone was very touchy. As in one swipe to move to apage got thre or four pages. I think these phones are a little strange on the new IOS The other thing I can tell you is that Siri seems be a little nuts. She has four models of iPhone to compete with, the four S Five fiveC and vieS. for some reason she doesn't always let you finish things, or she won't respond so you need to use voice ovr. Hopefully she will get an update of some type. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I can't comment on the raise to speak feature with Siri because I don't use that feature. but, the other comment is definitely valid. when answering the phone the voice starts on the speaker phone first rather than the ear piece. My twin brother has the same problem and both of us are using the 4S. I believe this is an iOS problem. I hope Aple will fix it when the next major update is released.

I heard something about the 4S not being able to support IOS 7 completely due to a lack of ram. I wonder if that is your problem. Just a thought.
Hello, I had a 4s 16gb model and I was experiencing everything you are speaking about. It is true, the 4s is having issues with that particular sensor. I will say however, that I do not believe that it is an IOS 7 issue. I have sense purchased an I phone 5s and I have had no issues with the sensor in answering calls or asking siri to perform tasks using raise to speak. I guess we will see if your experiencing this same issue once apple releases an update to IOS 7 in the coming week or so. I will check to verify whether or not this seems to be the case as I still have my 4s, but it is now just a glorified I-Pod. -Andrew-
