The title pretty much says it all. When in the middle of a screen recording, I used to be able to stop recording simply by pressing the side lock button, but this doesn't seem to work anymore. Is this a bug, or is there a new setting I don't know about?

Haven't updated, and my mind is already crumpled...
If the screen is locked, as in the screen of the phone is sleeping, what screen could it be recording? I hope this is a bug.

Strange, I just tried this and not having any issues here. Did you try resetting settings or a restart perhaps? Also what phone do you have?

Interestingly, I just reported an issue to Apple in which, despite having my screen curtain on, my sighted wife was seeing that the screen was on when being placed on my mag charging stand. Apple support asked me to send them a screen recording (which is often their response to bug reports and usually results in me dropping the issue there because making a screen recording and sending it off is a bit of a nuisance. why aren't they ever happy with clear steps to reproduce the problem?).
Anyway, I thought "How can I make a screen recording of the locked screen after placing it on the charging stand?". So I dropped it.
so it was just funny that this issue came up now after what Apple support asked me to do!
