Hey all.
I hope everything is going well.
So, despite what apple says about the dangers of using non-certified chargers on iphones with a usb c port, are we still restrricted if we don't use the ones apple provides?
I remember people saying that you wouldn't have fast charging or protection from overcharging if you used any chargers that weren't mfi, so wanted to get your thoughts on this since I might be getting an iphone 16 at the beginning of next year.

I always find charger that are certify, be it cables or the brick. Never had issues from 11 pro max, 12 pro, 13 pro and now 16 pro max. For the iPad 9 also.

I think you missunderstood what I was trying to say. I'm not having issues finding anything, I want to know if we can use just any cables or if there's a valid reason they need to come from apple.

Technically you can use any peripheral from any 3rd party vendor. Apple wants you to use Apple exclusive peripherals because according to them, you will have a better battery lifespan.

Ultimately it is up to the end user.

HTH. 🙂

That is why I posted. Never had an issue with them. Make sure they are certify. Cheaper and last long.

Search for GAN chargers on Amazon. They are supposed to be better. I plan to buy them in future.
