Has anyone here tried using the latest version of the ring app? Accessibility is totally broken. Most of the app now says either giftcard or other. It doesn't matter if screen recognition is on or off. I can't even play my events. Unfortunately rapid ring is no longer supported. Shame on you ring.

This I believe is an iOs 16…
This I believe is an iOs 16 issue. I had the same trouble with the best buy app until an update to my phone of IOs.
No notifications with iOS 18
The Ring app was clearly not designed for accessibility and suffers from many issues when VoiceOver is enabled.
But since upgrading to iOS 18, the app has completely stopped displaying notifications of any kind, regardless of whether VoiceOver is enabled. Although the problem occurred with the iOS 18 upgrade, the problem is specific to the Ring app. All other apps display notifications.
I wish Ring would fix their app., but the company seems to be fixated on Amazon platforms. I rarely leave a review in the app store, but I'm tempted to do so for Ring, and it will be scathing.
notifications are working…
notifications are working fine for me. Check your notification settings and see if it some how got changed from banners or what not.
Nope
I'm glad notifications work for someone, but my judgement that this is a poorly designed app still stands.
This problem isn’t just my phone. My wife has been seeing the same problem since she upgraded to iOS 18, and she doesn’t use VoiceOver. Thanks for suggesting that we check our notification settings. That was the first thing we checked. On both our phones, all notifications are enabled for the Ring app. We haven't changed anything other than to upgrade to iOS 18.
What about VoiceOver volume?
Hey Jonathan. I'm seeing a different issue, with VoiceOver, and wondered if you experience the same thing.
Open the app, find the control for your doorbell and open it, then find the live mode button and select it. Does your VoiceOver volume immediately drop to almost zero? The only way I can hear VoiceOver is to hold the phone up to my head, as if talking in a call in handset mode.
But even though I've entered live mode, I still need to enable the microphone in order to converse with whoever is at my door. So I have to swipe through several controls to find the microphone button, while simultaneously holding the phone up to my ear. It's not very practical.
I've got the same issue here…
I've got the same issue here as well. I honestly think it's because VO is going to the earpease rather than the phone speeker. I hardly use live mode but when I did, I've always had this problem of VO going through the earpease. Which is indeed annoying. I hate apps that do this sort of behavior and it's not just ring I have this issue with.
