Apple Beta Releases

Hi guys,

Ok on the latest 18.1 beta but may have been there for ages I've noticed for me I can drag an app and drop it before other apps on any page or drop it after any apps on any page. I can't however, add it to an existing folder. I get the option to add to folder but once complete it drops the app before the folder. As I say no idea if this is known or is ongoing but I've just found it. Will report to Apple. iOS18.1 public beta iPhone 15 pro.

So just tried this on an iPhone 14 with iOS 18.0.1 and drag and drop worked perfectly. So, either this is new or maybe 15 Pro specific.

This is an 18.1 issue I filed it hoping it gets fixed prior to release.

When I'm re-ordering apps on my iPhone 12 running iOS 18.0.1 and adding them to folders, it works just fine. However, doing this on my iPhone XR running the 18.1 beta it doesn't work. A way to get around this is instead of using the drag and drop actions on the apps, double tap and hold on the app that you want to drag and drop. You can then move your finger around the screen and voiceover will call out the names of icons your finger is above. When you find the folder you want to move the app in, you'll just hold your finger there and voiceover will tell you that iOS is about to open the folder. When the folder opens, you can then Drag your finger to another icon, voiceover will call its name the same way as it did on the main home screen, and then let go and the app will be dropped into the folder. A bit tedious but it absolutely works.

Another user brought it to my attention. I too noticed this in 18.0.1 Unable to bring back an app back into the dock, also unable to rearrange the dock apps. Pease check if this is present in 18.1 too?

Hi, I experience it too.
How can I enter n app to a folder?
I will tell how I do it.
find the app that I want to drag.
Make a long press on the app.
The textual menue is opened.
find the folder that I want to drag the app into and press on it dobble tap.
The folder is closing automaticaly and I go back to the Home Screen.
What do I need to do to make it work?

The inability to install applications on the dock part was solved with ios 18.1. I switched to beta just for this reason. However, I can't double tap and move to the application with ios 18 -including beta-. The editor works. But double tap and hold doesn't work. I can't do it or if it's because of a software-related problem, I don't know.
