Co-pilot can now speak and see but don't get to excited just yet.

I just read this article: https://www.techradar.com/computing/artificial-intelligence/microsofts-ai-copilot-makeover-lets-it-see-and-speak

It's interesting. I've tried it and it's fun but unable to go on the internet just yet,, but if you type to CoPilot it can, I wonder why that is?

I think this is going to take off and hopefully be an even more amazing companion than before.

What do you think?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what I think about the new copilot just yet. I'm not really seeing anything here that I would necessarily want over using any other chat model on the market so far. What I will say is that, for whatever it's worth, it's mostly free, which is a plus in my book. I would still like there to be a way to generate one single image, and then edit that image, but, yeah. We don't have that option as yet. It seems that most, if not all, of these models are converging into one point, and, from Microsoft, I think they have two many applications. I mean, they have edge, they have bing, and they have copilot, most of which you can get to from Safari or Chrome, or by getting to them from the other applications, no matter which one you have installed on your device. I'm sorry, but that's too many applications on my phone, even for brand loyalty. If they consolidated all of this into one single application, I think that would be better.
I also wanted to share my experience with the Microsoft Rewards program. It's a rewards program that lets you earn points by: Completing daily challenges, Searching the web, Shopping on Microsoft, Playing Microsoft games. You can redeem these points for various rewards, such as: Amazon gift cards, Netflix and Hulu subscriptions, Grocery gift cards (depending on your location)
However, I've noticed the program has declined recently, with fewer opportunities to earn points unless you're gaming or shopping. Despite this, it's still worth checking out. Daily challenges can earn you around 250-300 points, and it's free.

If you're interested, consider giving it a try. Consistently earning points throughout the year could lead to a nice reward, like a gift card. It's about 6500 points for a $5 Amazon gift card. Thought I'd pass on the info – might be worth exploring!

I'll say this, they've improved the voices a lot.

Oh you can stil tell it's AI but they're getting to 11labs standards in my oppinion and that's something worth looking into,, at least for me.

CoPilot isn't that exciting yet but once the speaking part can get online, it should be quite interesting.

I think the british voice is either the same or very similar to the pie male british voice.

It's not bad and hopefully will get better over time. It's not very smart at the moment but I'm sure it will get there.

Can we not just have Microsoft edge, set to Bing as the homepage, with copilot support, all within the Edge app?
Just curious…

That's kind of my point earlier on. Most of these apps seem to be pretty redundant, if you ask me.

If you just press control shift full stop/piriod, you'll pull out the CoPilot drawer, the thing is, it doesn't jump you straight to the edit box, it used to but with this update they broke it, so I think you have to tab around until you here open CoPilot and press enter on that.

Hopefully they fix that in a future update.

Where is the vision? Is it available in the copylot app?

"Here your Copilot sits within Microsoft Edge. If you want it to, it can understand the page you’re viewing and answer questions about its content. It can suggest next steps, answer questions, help navigate whatever it is you want to do and assist with tasks. All the while you simply speak it to in natural language. It’s a new feature that takes the ease and practical use of Copilot to a new level".
So I'm assuming it ain't comming to the mobile app in a way that it can make use of the camera...? I should've guessed given it is based off of GPT...

Probably not.

Not an Edge user, but that sounds incredibly handy! 🤯

Anyone else thinking of those?

As of today when trying to checkout the audible daily deal in the UK Amazon seems to have changed the login. Before you entered your email address then on the next screen your password. Today it failed and after checking out the page it was because a captcha had appeared. So out of interest I tried using BME on my laptop and it told me it appears to be a page with a captcha onh it. The image is slightly blurred but I think the characters are abc123 or something. Didn't try it as I thought I'd try the verbal version which didn't work so just gave up.

It is useful, when it works.

Oh, good point! I miss the old extension that used to exist for Firefox, I think it was called “WebVism”. Used to be super handy for auto filling out catptchas. 🙂
