To ensure a smooth rollout, Be My Eyes is looking for 10 beta testers from each of these five launch countries to help test the Call a Volunteer functionality on Ray-Ban Meta glasses and provide invaluable feedback.

If you’re interested in being part of this exciting beta program, and you live in one of the 5 countries listed and you currently own a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, we kindly ask that you provide the following details in order to enroll both you and your glasses:
• Full Name

Hi, The apps required are the Be My Eyes and the Meta View apps. If you are a Be My Eyes user and have a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, you should already have both of these apps installed so no new apps would need to be installed to be a part of this beta. Updates are required but no new apps. I hope that helps.

I'm getting the Ray-Bans soon, but probably not soon enough to participate in the beta. I'm looking forward to having this capability when it launches. Keep up the great work.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I can’t tell you how excited we are to get this product in great shape for launch. The sense of freedom from not having to hold your phone is something I can’t wait for you to experience when you get your Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Hi Andy, I've just sent you an email with all my particulars, in hopes that I might be one of the lucky ones to trial this new integration.

I sent my email yesterday! I'm hoping to test this out as well! Are there plans to be able to call your be my eyes groups as well?

By Andy Lane on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

Thanks so much, I have received your email. Regarding groups, remember this is a partnership in its early days. We’d very much like to bring groups to ray-Ban Meta. Meta have been very receptive to expanding into new features and Groups would be one of the first we’d like to add.

By Andy Lane on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

Thanks to everyone who has sent their details in over the last few days. I’d like to allow 1 more day for people to join then we’ll have to stop accepting new beta testers for the time bieng.

We’ll be sending out all relavant information and getting everyone onboarded early in the week so please check your inbox starting Monday if you’ve sent us your details.

Hi there, I’ve sent my application for beta testing as well I’m sent it from the UK. Hope you get mine as well :)

I cannot wait for the day when we have smart glasses that truly replace our smart phones. Good luck to all the beta testers and I am hopeful that this will in time lead to Be My AI on Meta. 🙂

By Andy Lane on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

Hey Saj, yep got it, thanks.

By Andy Lane on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

I agree. It’s the start of something so incredibly exciting and Meta are so committed to expanding how these new technologies can be used by blind people and people with low vision. The future looks good.

By Brian on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

All of these smart glasses being designed and conceived for the blind, and Meta ends up being the popular choice by blind users.

You know, Meta, the smart glasses that were, not, really designed for the blind, at least not in their entirety. 😀

By PaulMartz on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 - 20:13

Yeah, Meta. I still get "button, button, button" whenever I go to the facebook website. And don't get me started about how Facebook post dates can't be read by VoiceOver.

All that aside, these glasses are freaking useful. Add Be My eyes, and they become as essential as a cane.

i asked the Seleste owner in an early email if he would sel his company to Meta. I bet he wishes he had!

One thing the Vergecast reminded me of - Ray-Ban the brand is owned by a big European company that prety much owns every brand of glasses in the world. So, given that Meta own all the social media (pretty much) it is the best combination.
