I have assigned a 2-finger swipe left to move to the status bar. Since upgrading to ios 18, this gesture frequently doesn't work. I've gone in and assigned it again, and it was working fine, but just today, it stopped again.
Strange thing is that all the other custom gestures I have assigned work consistantly.

A suggestion
Hi Louise,
I have a suggestion for you. Try going into the touch Chester commands, and going to the two finger swipe left option, and at the very bottom of your available choices, choose the default option. Once that is done, try going back in and assign the two finger gesture to something else (other than status bar).
See if that holds up for a little while, and if so, do that again, but this time set it to status bar, as you normally would.
Currently, I have my two finger swipe left set to previous control, with two finger swipe right set to next control. For me, a four finger swipe up gets me to the status bar.
I know I am strange…
Anyway, I hope this helps you out. 🙂
Exactly the same
Hi,
I have 2 finger swipe left set to status bar and yes sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. 2 finger swipe right is set to control center and it works everytime. So, as Brian says it maybe specific to that control. May try switching out and see if it helps.
Tried another gesture with same results
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried assigning a 2 finger swipe up to move to the status bar, and now I have 2 commands that work inconsistantly. LOL
I'll report to Apple.
Thanks again for the help.
I think this has been a…
I think this has been a weird thing with the status bar since iOS 17. I've noticed that the command to move to the status bar, with a BT keyboard, Braille display, and BSI sometimes works, and sometimes does not.
