is there any way to raise the volume of voice memos within the app or do I have to imported into an audio editor? I noticed that I made a recording this afternoon and it’s very very quiet. I have to have my device nearly on full blast to be able to hear it clearly Especially if I’m recording something like ambience

Feels like recorder has a hard noise gate on for stereo recordings. I don't like it much since I want to record my surroundings sometimes, but for louder stuff like musical content it's fine.

Hi everyone,

Have you guys tried disabling the Voice Isolation under Settings > Accessibility > Audio and Visual?

Just wondering if this would affect the voice recorder. 🤷

My voice isolation is turned off. It doesn’t sound like there’s a noise gate though because you can still hear the stuff that is softer but it’s just that they’re recording itself is really quiet and I don’t know how to boost the volume of the recording.

Low volume in voice memos seems to have been a thing forever. My hack to work around it is to save the voice memo to files, then import it into GarageBand and turn up the gain. Kind of complex because I have 2 or 3 files I have to delete afterward, and I'm sure people who know more about audio processing might tell me that turning up the gain ruins it, but hey it works′.

On a somewhat related note, trimming a voice memo is an absolute pain. It doesn't look like you can move the start and end points by small increments so you can get what you want, then again I don't know if it's any easier for someone not using VO. </rant>

I think it's enough for music and voice recordings.
If I want more details I'll use another recording app.
