Wow!
This is a pretty impressive app, for what it is. If you have used be my AI, then this app will be very easy to use. Do keep in mind that it uses system voice, so be prepared for that when you first use it to get a description of an image. All in all, a very cool and useful app.

I would say it is equivalent to the B my AI portion of the Be My Eyes app. What makes this app stand out is the ease of use. Once the app is loaded, you literally get like two buttons, a camera button and a help button.
Double tap the camera button to take a picture of something and receive an AI generated description of said picture, or double tap, and hold the camera button to ask a question (before the picture is taken), then get an AI generated description based on your question.
It is, in a word, Convenient.
So, is the app subscription…
So, is the app subscription based or not? There's something on the store page saying it has in app purchases, but there's nothing in the app about subscribing or purchasing access that I could see.
The only real complaint I have is that they don't show the text of the response so you can review it with VoiceOver or read it if you're using magnification.

Speakaboo is free for now. Also, it is designed as a minimalist app, so there is no textual feedback, only the spoken feedback you get when you use it.

They now have a premium plan, but no trial to see if it's worth what they want. Their lifetime is currently 100USD, and apparently that's a discount.

Personally, I went with the monthly plan, $4.99 US. I think it's worth it, you get some nice extra features, including the ability to choose between metric or imperial measuring units. You also get such things like the ability to change Speakaboo's voice, the ability to replay descriptions, and a choice between concise and descriptive descriptions.
