Hello Everyone,

I sent to a feedback to the Be My Eyes team, asking them to create a shortcut which takes the screenshot and share with the app and describe only the VoiceOver focused area in the screenshot.

If anyone of you feel this feature is required, please use the below email template. To send the email.

Dear Be My Eyes Team,

I hope you're doing well. I would like to suggest a new feature that I believe will significantly improve the app’s usability for VoiceOver users.

Could you consider creating an Apple Shortcut that allows users to take a screenshot using VoiceOver and automatically share it with the Be My Eyes app? This shortcut would focus on describing only the object or element where the VoiceOver cursor is positioned at the time of the screenshot.

This feature would be especially helpful for VoiceOver users, enabling us to quickly get relevant information about what we are focusing on within different apps or environments. By assigning a custom gesture to trigger this shortcut, it would further streamline and simplify the process.

I believe this enhancement would greatly increase the accessibility and convenience of the app for visually impaired users. Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I look forward to your feedback.

Best regards,

I want a shortcut which I can assign to a voiceover gesture, which will take photo and get it quickly described by BME.

This would be doable if be my eyes had the function to describe with AI in the shortcuts app but it doesn't. I just looked. If this can become a thing, it's game on because from that point forward, we can make this shortcut however we want. I was gunna make one but can't right now as the reasons has been stated above.
