Safari is too verbose when typing in Safari address bar

Any idea why Voiceover reads aloud the entire address after each letter typed in the address bar in Safari? Any tips would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me nuts! Thanks!

I've noticed this as well, particurarly on mac, and its quite annoying.
