How do I use the WalkyTalky feature on my Apple Watch?

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

Hello, I'm new to the Apple Watch and noticed an app called WalkyTalky on my watch. I'm guessing it came preinstalled on the watch, but I'm not sure what it's used for. I'm also hazarding a guess that it is accessible to a VoiceOver user. I'd appreciate if someone could explain how it works. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer me about this app.

Hi, thanks for reaching out to us. Here are the steps to use this feature.

Step 1: You have to invite people to join your Walkie-Talkie. If you don't invite any one, it won't work.
Step 2: Select a person that you have invited to join your WalkieTalkie. You can select that person by going through your contacts.
Step 3: You're all done.

Hopefully this helps.

Hi,
I too have the same question. Once a contact is added, how do we actually talk to that person within reach? As far as I understand the control centre toggle does just that, off or on walkytalky. Do I have to perform long press?

After you invite the person, you can then double tap on a name, say Melissa. Then you hold down, talk, then let go. You can I think set it to double tap and talk then double tap again to end. Keep in mind, I mean the two finger double tap, as though answering a call, envoking Siri, etc. Just play with it. It's pretty neat but I wish they'd notify you when a contact or somehow another person gets a watch.

Thanks for the tips on WalkyTalky... Sadly, I don't know anyone with an Apple Watch, so opportunities to try out the feature are essentially non-existent for me at the moment. Looks like it's time to make some new friends and hope they have an Apple Watch.

If you have anyone with an iPhone, use iMessage and ask, do you have a watch? I may be mistaken as it's been a bit since I saw someone i know have a watch, but it might notify you. I was half awake when I wrote that. If you're on X? or FB, or whatever, ask if anyone wants to chat walkie and be done. ;;) It's just like an audio message on iMessage. Just jump off the diving board, You'll surface, maybe. :) jk
