Suno accessibility is falling apart, piece by piece.

It seems like every time I go on their website, I find myself having new accessibility issues. Firstly, the check boxes for instrumental and custom mode when creating a song are no longer detectable or even mentioned by voice-over. Secondly, the model selection dropbox doesn't work when double tapping on it. Finally, it's starting to get harder to delete songs. Is anyone else having these issues?

Hi,

Not had this issue using NVDA on Windows, but I did notice the check boxes weren't there for custom and instrumental, but there's a clickable element available. Not sure how you'd search for that using voiceover.

Not had any trouble deleting stuff either although sometimes the option doesn't appear immediately, usually a browser refresh, then going to your library enables you to bring up the move to trash option.

Not sure if any of that has helped at all.

You just have to use it a bit differently now. When you go into the create section, you want to turn the screen recognition on to find custom.

Heya there,
Try Udio. It's pretty accessible, generates with more quality and the voices do not sound like they're coming from a pop can. :D
One thing though, this one generates in 32 secs long songs. If you have a mac with TouchBar, you can move the time elapsed slider with it, but I do not know how to do it with the keyboard.
www.udio.com
Also, I have a butload of commands that you can use over there. If you're interested just let me know. Have fun!

Udio sucks. I had both Subscriptions but canceled the udio one for many reasons which you will find out if you actually use it.

How can I contact Suno? I wanna ask them to make the create section on their website more phone friendly.

I've contacted them regarding these issues but did not get any reply so far altough they were more reactive in the past.
I personally use Suno with NVDA and I cannot figure out how to activate the model drop down. And when trying to use the "reuse prompt" function on a song, it's very difficult to use. It's a pity.
Udio is indeed more accessible, but it never generates my music the way I want, despite my efforts to be precise in choosing the style. And I don't find singer's voice so good.

I've raised the checkbox issue with Suno and haven't gotten a useful reply back yet. I plan to poke them again this week. I can't even get it to work using OCR, but I'm using JAWS and not NVDA so I wonder if NVDA does it slightly differently. Either way, glad it's not just me.

Alright it's time for an audio engineer and musician to step in here. While Udio is technically less accessible by a slight margin the audio and actual music is far better than Suno at the moment. It may only do 30 second clips but the extension work sounds way better so it doesn't really matter. Suno still repeats the same notes a lot and doesn't do well with complex stuff. It does sound better at generating newer music like trap and rap but normal acoustic music is better on Udio. Both need a lot of work but I canceled my Suno a long time ago when I started using Udio.

One song generator that I use, it’s called song AI in the App Store, but when I open it on my iPhone, it seems to be always referred to as AI Music. Works reasonably well, and I have created a bunch of songs with it. I got a year-long membership, and I am really enjoying it. I suspect that it uses the Suno platform.
