Hi, all. I am working with a student who needs to write his doctoral dissertation and needs a reliable citation tool. I've searched the forums and found a site--I think it was Bibliography Makers. Is that the best accessible tool/generator out there for Mac? Thanks,

Chris

Have you checked out easyBib.com? When I was in school, I used it to accessibly cite sources in MLA and APA formats. Obviously, things may (and probably have) changed with that service or its usability and accessibility since I last used it in 2017, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Zotero is pretty accessible on the web, and they are also improving it. I don't know about the Mac version, the Windows app is ok, but I found that the iOS app is much better. I use the web and iOS versions side by side.

I find the best solution (regardless of operating system) is to export the bibliographical records in BibTeX format, and to paste them into a text editor. BibTeX was created for LaTeX, but it is also supported by Pandoc Markdown.
I've experiemnted with Zotero, but I wasn't satisfied with its accessibility at the time. Version 7 of Zotero is under development (with beta available) and it appears to be more accessible. However, I wouldn't be comfortable relying on it for my research at this point.
BibTeX format is widely supported.

I've been using this website for quite a while ever since I decided to no longer use citethisforme.com. Is Zotero really accessible?
