Introducing Adventure To Fate Lost Island

iOS and iPadOS Gaming

Hi, I am the developer of the Adventure To Fate series. I appreciate all the support I get on this site and forums.

I had posted that I have a new game in development over on audiogames.net and I wanted to post over here as well. It seems that a lot of the same users cross-post on both forms but for those that do not, I wanted to post here too.

The game has been in development for about 6 months now (using the game engine I built over the last 10 years) and is approaching release on March 1st. I have worked with a group of about 10-15 VoiceOver testers (Mostly from the audiogames forum) to make this game as accessible as possible. This game should be head and shoulders above the previous. Not just accessible but built and functioning with accessibility as the main focus. It still isn't perfect but should always be getting better.

Anyways the game is now open for pre-orders on the App Store here.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/adventure-to-fate-lost-island/id6450016324

I have a huge list of new features and leading up to the release I will post those and other previews as well as answer any questions people may have.

Also if you want insider info or direct contact about the game you can join the discord here:

https://discord.com/invite/HX2N9yZPYy

Note this is a premium paid game with no ads or IAP or anything like that. Everything is fully unlocked from the start. I understand not everyone has money to spend on ios games so if you need some assistance getting the game let me know after release and I will work with anyone from this forum to get them a copy.

Thanks for your time and support!

Swipe gestures for movement are in the game but voiceovers swipe to change elements seems to overwrite those.

3 finger swipe doesn’t seem to work even with the swipe gesture in place. I’ll have to check it out maybe there is a different gesture I have to add.

Also I am sending / pming you a code to download the game. I want everyone to be able to experience the game even if they are not in a financial situation to spend on the game. As long as I make enough to continue making games that’s all that matters.

Thanks! I'll try and give you more detailed feedback.
I think it might be interesting to try to use the rotor for these actions.

Great news! The update itself is finally done (coding-wise)! I will be spending tonight and tomorrow testing on my own and then if all goes well the update will go out to my Testflight testers. If there are no major bugs or fixes, the update will be submitted to Apple mid/late next week.

I know the update has taken a while but I want to thoroughly test as much as possible since there are so many new features and so much new code. It will likely take me hours just to comb through the changes and write the full changelog.

Here is a bit of a preview of the reward system that I spent last week working on. As a refresher when you play the Witch class you will have "5 Lives" and after those are gone the character is deleted and you must start over. While you will lose your progress you will gain Mystic Souls.

These Mystic Souls will be used to unlock new skills, pets, races, and classes within the game. These auto-unlock as you collect the souls so no need to pick and choose which you want.

Here is a preview of the Bonuses you unlock with the Mystic Souls.

Reroll (skill) - 5 souls
Luck (stat that can show up on level-ups) -15 souls.
Leprechaun (race) -30 souls.
Miraculous Recovery (skill) - 50 souls.
Resisted anger (skill) - 75 souls.
Vibrant parrot (pet) - 100 souls.
No Remorse (skill) - 125 souls.
Defusing chant (skill) -150 souls.
Jade Cobra (pet) - 200 souls.
Soul Absorb (skill) - 250 souls.
Devious chant (skill) - 300 souls.
Zombie (race) - 350 souls.
Illusionary haste (skill) - 400 souls.
Blight (skill) - 500 souls
Paladin (class) - ???? souls(not unlockable until a future update).

attachThumb138945

Beating the game provides about 150 souls (otherwise it's based on how far you made it plus some other bonuses). There are also ways to obtain extra souls during your run. This will be a bit of a grind but it's a system that is meant to last a while.

In essence, this update will add a Rogue-Lite system and class. Now you have 3 play options where you can play as a Classic Class (from my previous adventure to fate games), A Island Class (using a skill tree), and A Mystic / rogue-lite Class.

This is gonna be so cool. I can’t wait for the update to come out.

By Kessler on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

I currently have a character that has made it to floor 19 but I have died seven times so when I update the app will I lose that character?
Also, my character is an elf priestess

By Adventure To F… on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

Only witches will delete after 5 deaths. Your other characters will not.

As for the update it should be out now!

Great news update 1.14 has been accepted to the App Store. Here are the update notes in full.

This is a really exciting update because it adds a new play style and is likely a peek into how I’ll handle my next game (with much more roguelike systems).

Anyways here are the update notes! Thanks for the support!

The largest Adventure To Fate Update ever! Introducing the Witch Class (A Roguelike Class and System) and So much more!

Now you can explore the Lost Island in a whole new way! The new Witch class allows you to play the game as a Roguelike. The ultimate challenge! Test your skills and see how far you can make it!

-The Witch a New Mystical Class-
Witches (a Mystical Class) is designed for Adventure To Fate Experts, they are both more challenging and rewarding! The rewards include new skills, races, pets, and classes! They play like a Roguelike.

Witches have certain Advantages and Disadvantages that other classes do not. This allows the Witch to be challenging yet extremely powerful if played with the right strategy.

A Disadvantage of the Witch is that they only have 5 lives. After their 5th death, the character is permanently deleted. However, an Advantage might be that after each death they get to choose from a pool of bonuses that can help on their adventure.

-New Mystical Class Systems (Works like Roguelike)-

-Death Reward System
Each death that does not result in permadeath gains a bonus. Note: Mystic Classes have 5 lives until permadeath.

-Mystic Soul Collection / Rewards System
At the end of each run (whether successful or not) you gain mystic souls. The amount mostly depends on how far you make it, along with some other bonuses along the way.

The Mystic Souls you collect automatically unlock new more powerful skills, pets, races, and even classes!

Then when you attempt your run again these new bonuses will strengthen your character helping you reach even further!

-Collects Mystical Souls on each run.

-Mystic Souls unlock new more powerful skills as well as new pets, races, and even classes!

-Playing as a Mystic Class can unlock features for all the characters in the game!

-New Content-
-New Mystical Class - Witches are masters of the dark arts. The witch's greatest strength is her variation.

Witches are a Mystical (Roguelike) Class. They only have 5 lives until permadeath. They select a new Skill or Stat each level up. They will have 3 options that appear out of a larger pool of skills or stats.

Each run with the Witch should be unique based on their options and selections. Once they succeed in saving the Island or Die to fate they are still rewarded with Mystic Souls which are used to unlock new bonuses and features in the game.

-40 new skills of all types
New skills to make a giant skill pool for the Witch and Paladin Classes
-New Passives, Profession Passives, Skills, Spells, Morphs and Much More!

2 New Races
-Leprechaun
Signature Skill - ReRoll - The passive ability for Mystical Classes to reroll their given level-up skills and stats.

By Panais on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

As far as I can tell there is no way to increase the volume of sound effects. This option is only available for music.
So as things stand now, VO completely masks everything else.

By Tayo on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

the sound effects volume is there, but it has to be enabled. in the main menu of the game there's a section that you can change from using system sound to app sound. changing to app sound allows you to adjust the volume of sound effects.

By Panais on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

I’m an idiot. Should have searched more before whining.

By Adventure To F… on Thursday, June 20, 2024 - 18:46

I put 2 sound delivery options in because some people preferred it one way and others the other way.

Yes it’s a bit confusing the option for sound effects only shows at the start page I’ll see what I can do to get it in game.

If you do change the sound audio type and use the slider for sfx make sure you turn off audio ducking otherwise the voiceover will lower the volume when it reads text and it will be hard to hear the sfx.

It should warn you when changing it but I always like the mention it.

Member of the AppleVis Editorial Team

We've noticed that this game hasn't been submitted to the AppleVis App Directory yet. If someone familiar with the game would take a couple of minutes to submit it, that would be greatly appreciated. Having entries in our App Directory helps other users discover and learn about accessible games such as this one. Thanks!

By Adventure To F… on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - 18:46

@appleVis thanks for pointing that out. I sort of forgot about it. I understand the rules say I cannot so I’ll stick to those. Hopefully someone from this post can otherwise I’ll ask someone from the games discord to hop over here and do so.

By Adventure To F… on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - 18:46

To celebrate the release of the new Witch Class (which is a loose take on a roguelike) I am put the game on sale for the first time. $4.99 > $2.99 for 3 days!

Thanks for the support!

By Panais on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - 18:46

It has led to a situation, in which the developer of an application posted about his work in the wrong part of the website, and some other poor user is required to repost about it in the right topic, with none of the comments.
You’re smarter than that applevis.
PS game is awesome

By Jonathan Candler on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - 18:46

I don't think there should be no reason why a dev of an application couldn't post their own app here, as long as the dev has put in the work to make it accessible which is clearly the case here! I've been against this rule for a long time now, just didn't say anything. Can the mods explain why such rule exist? I would really love to know! You're promoting your own app, which, I see nothing wrong with that.

By Panais on Thursday, July 4, 2024 - 18:46

Now you only need to find another poor user to copy and paste all 68 comments on the game entry and you are all set.
Good job and good luck.

By Brad on Thursday, July 4, 2024 - 18:46

Don't expect them to change it though, they're very me mme mme with their website.

I just had to rewrite my post because I don't want to get banned, as I need this website. I'll say this though, it's terrible that I can't speak my mind otherwise I could be thrown off of a platform I actually need to function on a day to day bassess.

Regarding our rule that prevents app developers from submitting their own apps to the AppleVis App Directory, there are important reasons why this policy needs to remain in place.

"Unless you monitor the site in real-time, you will be unaware of the nature, frequency, and variety of behaviours exhibited by some developers and agencies acting on their behalf. This behind-the-scenes reality and resulting moderation makes it very clear why this rule is necessary."

While there are some developers who could be trusted to provide accurate and complete information on the accessibility of their app, these are unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. At the other end of the spectrum are developers and their agents who are simply seeking to get an app mentioned on as many websites as possible. They stumble upon AppleVis, ignore our request not to post their own app to the App Directory, and then misrepresent the accessibility of the app.

Typically, this misrepresentation is because they have no knowledge of Apple's accessibility features and why they matter to our community. Accordingly, when selecting the accessibility ratings for their app, they rarely reflect the truth. In these extreme, but sadly common, cases, this is not an opportunity to initiate a dialogue with the developer to educate and advocate about accessibility. Often they use email addresses which are clearly not monitored and intended to be disposed of as soon as they begin to be blocked by spam prevention services and tools such as those we use. These are not good faith actors and are likely to never revisit AppleVis after posting their app to the Directory.

There are also occasions when developers have posted their own app to the App Directory in good faith. In some cases, they have known about accessibility and made informed estimations on the current accessibility level of their app. Again, even though done in good faith, these ratings aren't always accurate and complete. In these cases, we typically follow up with them privately.

As an example of what we sometimes see, just last week a developer posted their own app to the site's App Directory. However, in this case, they attempted to present themselves as an end user of the app rather than its developer. This was done by writing something to the effect of "I stumbled upon this great app and wanted to share it." However, this didn't stand up to scrutiny when they were dumb enough to use an email address that had the domain name for the app's website.

The bottom line is that we need to be able to enforce this rule consistently across all cases. If we were to allow some developers to submit their own apps because we believe they might provide accurate and complete information, it would significantly complicate our ability to enforce the rule in other instances. This selective enforcement could lead to accusations of favouritism or bias, and make it much harder to justify the rule's application to developers who may feel they're equally trustworthy. The rule is in place as a result of 14 years of observing and responding to the varied practices of developers and their agents. A blanket policy, while sometimes inconvenient, ensures fairness and maintains the integrity of our App Directory as a source of unbiased, user-generated information about app accessibility.

We appreciate the enthusiasm of developers who want to engage with our community. However, the App Directory is intended for users of Apple's vision accessibility features to share their independent experiences and assessments of app accessibility. Developers are always welcome to provide additional information and respond to comments on already submitted apps, or to post about their apps in our forum.

I hope this explanation helps clarify our position on this matter.

By Brad on Thursday, July 4, 2024 - 18:46

I just had a thought that might help you guys, what if you could get a team of testers together to test apps, if you're just say 4 people and 20 agree to test apps,, I think you'd get results a lot faster.

You could automate it in a way too, have an email sent out once you have x amount of apps, i'm honestly not sure but I think getting the users of your website involved might move things along quite a bit quicker.

By Adventure To F… on Thursday, July 4, 2024 - 18:46

Thanks for getting this posted.

Sorry for any drama I stirred up. I get both reasonings so I’ll just leave it at that. I appreciate these forums the members and the mods!

Is there still anything left I can help with? What’s the deal about copying over posts?

Anyways back to game news. After the sale over the weekend the game shot up the ranks and reached as high as 50th overall for ALL games on the App Store. I really want to say thanks for spreading the word about my work so I can continue making these games!

As for the next update I’m working on that now. It will be mostly general fixes and a few voiceover suggested changes.

Thanks again!

By Adventure To F… on Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 18:46

Update 1.16

This update includes a bit of balancing as well as fixing some outstanding voiceover issues. Most of the additions/fixes focus on getting the game engine ready for the upcoming game. The big fix/change here is updating interactions to the Alert system which makes VoiceOver more stable (non voiceover users will not have the change)

-New Skills and Skill Changes
-
-New Passive Skill Searching Stone
-The Searching Stone passive skill can now be unlocked with Mystic Souls (by playing the Witch Class).
-The Searching Stone gives ALL characters in the account a 7% better chance to find Ultra Rare Pets and Ultra Rare Items. (This stacks with the Witch's 15% already improved find chance)

-Spirit Absorb and Soul Absorb now have more random damage (the average damage is about the same)
-Recovering Rain - minor buff to HP restore 7 > 10

-Huge overhaul of VoiceOver alert system-
-Moved most Voiceover popups from info view to system alert for more stable and consistent play. Over 100 interactions were changed and optimized!

-Naming conventions-
-Restore HP / SP (the amount you restore/recover after each round/battle) has been standardized to HP / SP Restore

-Leech HP / SP (the amount you leech when dealing damage to an enemy) has been standardized to HP / SP Leech
-These should be renamed everywhere in the game (from the skill descriptions to the help files).

-Bug Fixes-
-Fixed critical death bug that may cause enemies to stop attacking.
-Fixed a bug for VoiceOver users where you couldn’t swipe correctly to revive after dying.
-Fixed bug for VoiceOver users that didn’t update HP/SP display after dying
-Fixed bug when casting a debuff on NPC2 or NPC3 it could display the name as blank.
-When selecting a class that is not unlocked VO now reads that it is undiscovered and what you must do to unlock the class.

-Fixed the discord button that was overlapping on the Help Page in the game.

Again there was a pretty big change in how Alerts work if you notice anything out of wack please let me know!

By Kessler on Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 18:46

I am at flor 30 but the path to flor 31 is blocked
The only path is to flor 34
Can someone help? there’s also a path from where I came from

By Adventure To F… on Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 18:46

You should be able to go to room 24 on floor 30 the get to floor 31.

By Kessler on Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 18:46

I’ll try that once I find a way to get to room 24

By Kessler on Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 18:46

I finally figured out how to get out of what felt like a trap

By Adwetya02 on Sunday, July 21, 2024 - 18:46

I'm not sure if it's feasible because I can't currently purchase the game, but could the VoiceOver gesture of swiping with three fingers be utilized for navigating between rooms? I assume the magic tap (two-finger double tap) is already allocated for other actions.

Visit Here:- https://storysaver.page/

By Kessler on Sunday, July 21, 2024 - 18:46

It will not work with Voice-Over unless they add direct touch into the game, which I think they might not

By Adventure To F… on Sunday, July 21, 2024 - 18:46

These last two updates are mostly focused on optimizing some voiceover features and fixing bugs. Again I am doing this to get the game engine ready for the remaster of a Quest To The Core (The original Adventure To Fate game). Now that I have these complete I will be shifting attention to the remaster of a QTTC until August when I plan on adding the Paladin Class to Lost Island.

-Fixed VoiceOver bug where Witch stat gain was reading intelligence instead of leech SP.

By Firefly on Sunday, July 21, 2024 - 18:46

I purchased this game a few days ago and I really like it a lot! Keep up the great work! I have not checked out the arena yet, but I will definitely do that. I like the fact that I can wander around a grid just going up and down the Rose, and when it’s time for me to go to a new floor, it automatically seems to bring me there when I go on that square. Which makes it easier since it seems like I don’t need to memorize where the exit and entrance are two different floors

By Adventure To F… on Sunday, July 28, 2024 - 18:46

Glad these voiceover exploration enhancements are making a difference and making the game more accessible.

Thanks for supporting the game!

By Adventure To F… on Friday, September 13, 2024 - 18:46

Great news! First off glad AppleVis is back!!!

Also there is an update in the works to add the Paladin class to the game! This class will be a roguelike class (much like the witch).

more details as testing continues

By Kessler on Friday, September 27, 2024 - 18:46

is anyone know how to beat the final boss with the priest?

By Adventure To F… on Friday, October 4, 2024 - 18:46

Hey sorry I missed your initial comment but glad you ended up beating it. What skills and strategies did you use?

Also a little update on the paladin. It’s in the final stages of testing. Hopefully out soon!

By Kessler on Friday, October 4, 2024 - 18:46

The skills all I need were extend life to boost my HP and then holy seed to boost my shadow resist by 100 then since my shadow resistance was a maximum of 40, I had 140 shadow resistant total then what I did was these divine strike until the final boss was at 15% then used flame beam toend it
Then, since the boss was defeated, I just had to kill the spirit and soul by using divine strike. I use the very strong healing spell if my health was too low

By Adventure To F… on Friday, October 4, 2024 - 18:46

The Paladin update has been submitted to Apple and is waiting for review!

Update notes:

Now you can explore the Lost Island as a holy crusader! The new Paladin class allows you to play the game as a Roguelike. The ultimate challenge! Test your skills and see how far you can make it!

The update has came out and it’s really cool
