Apple is actively developing a host of innovative accessibility features, complemented by enhancements to existing settings, all set to roll out later this year.
Adaptive Voice Shortcuts:
Enabling a seamless user experience, this upcoming feature empowers users to personalize their accessibility settings with a distinct spoken phrase. Crafted for convenience, Adaptive Voice Shortcuts grant users the freedom to create unique phrases, effortlessly toggling accessibility features like VoiceOver, Voice Control, Zoom, and more.
New "Categories" Section for Live Speech:
Building on the existing Live Speech feature, Apple introduces a user-friendly update. Now, users can categorize their phrases into custom sections, adding a touch of personalization to their experience. With the ability to name categories and choose from a selection of icons, organizing and accessing phrases becomes an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing process.
Expanded App Support for Custom Font Sizes:
Apple is set to broaden its support for adjustable Text Size within the "Accessibility" settings. Currently available for key apps like Calendar, Finder, Mail, Messages, and Notes on macOS Sonoma, the upcoming macOS 15 will extend this feature to include additional apps such as Books, News, Stocks, Tips, and Weather. This enhancement allows users to tailor font sizes to their preferences, ensuring a comfortable reading experience across a wider range of applications.

More VO fixes would always be nice.

They did respond that they addressed two that I opened in iOS 18, but I haven't installed it yet to verify.

VoiceOver text is not read in SwiftUI Menus

I think two people said they were contacted that they got notifications that bugs they reported is fixed. It is critical you check that asap and let them know if it is fixed or not!

So I can put notification sounds into my iphone. Apps like whatsapp should be able to use these sounds as well.

When it comes to 3rd party apps, the developers have had the ability to add their own sounds for notifications within their app's settings. For years. The problem is that sometimes, just sometimes, the app devs don't bother.

Nevertheless it is up to the devs of these 3rd party apps, like WhatsApp rather than Apple.

HTH. 🤷
