Braille problems with JAWS 2024

Hi everyone,
I’m having some problems with Braille in JAWS 2024 and could use some help:
1. Six-dot Braille in UEB: When I set English UEB in Language Profiles, symbols are displayed incorrectly. For example, colons show as dots 1-5-6 instead of 2-5, and periods as dots 4-6. How can I fix this?
2. Capitalization in Six-dot Braille: Capitals are showing with dot 7 (eight-dot Braille) instead of dot 6. Any solutions?
3. Numbers: Numbers are displayed incorrectly too. For example, the number 1 shows as dot 2, the number 2 as dots 2-3, and the number 3 as dots 2-5, instead of using the number sign (dots 3-4-5-6). How can I correct this?
4. Use Liblouis for computer Braille: Checking this box causes text to disappear, showing only spaces. How do I resolve this?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

As for #1 and possibly others it sounds like grade two translation is off. You did not mention what display you are using? If you have a Focus try dots 23457-chord (computer Braille capital T plus space) to see if that helps. If so you can look around in the Configuration Manager to save it as the default. Also note that by default JAWS defaults to expanding the current word to computer Braille which makes cursor routing easier. SO if your cursor is at the word you are currently checking you will also get what you describe in #1.

Vispero has made braille settings needlessly complicated.

When looking at the options for your language profile, I think that the setting you need to change is called "By default: use". I assume that it's currently set to Computer Braille. You need to change it to Contracted Braille.

The option to use Liblouis for computer braille should be unchecked.

Yeah, they really have, I don’t know why they have to make things so difficult
