Can anyone suggest text-based story games for iOS that are like "Frequency Missing?" The objective of "Frequency Missing" is to complete the story. I'm looking for similar games that are free to play. What do you think?

There is a really neat game that is, while not exactly like Frequency Missing, has some of the same qualities. To summarize, you are listening to a FM radio station, and the morning news DJ is discussing news and trends, etc. You, as the protagonist, become aware that you can change the dial to switch stations, but sometimes get an audible glimpse into the future. As the player, your goal is to uncover what is really going on and there is a little bit of time travel involved.

Anyway, hope I have not given too much away. 😳

This is free and just purely text based. It is huge. Maybe not a massive amount of actual gameplay - it's mostly just reading. But the story is very engaging.

Not sure if it's like Frequency Missing as I've not tried it, but worth a go.

Yes it is read by VoiceOver. But there is a very large novel's worth of content in there so I doubt it would would have been practical to have it voice acted. I found it took a while to gel with me, but it is well loved on here and for good reason.

I just downloaded and tried Frequency Missing and played it a little and it is quite different to that so sorry if it's not a great suggestion. However, I appreciate you bringing it to my attention as it is right up my street.

Talking of bad suggestions, because it's not free, but Evidence 111 is very good. It's well voice acted and has a few different branches through the story. If I remember rightly there aren't really any puzzles, just choices you have to make as you go. It's not very long - I finished it in one setting so if it is expensive where you are then maybe not the best value. But I enjoyed my time with it.
