New phone in a couple months or so

Apple Hardware and Compatible Accessories

Not sure where to put this so here it goes. Mods, if this needs moving to another forum, feel free to move. I'll be upgrading to a new phone in a couple months from my 13 pro. Thinking about the 15 but saying that, if you have the 15 or the pro, how is it? I've got a fast charger right now that I use with my phone and thus, leads to another question. Does the 15 charge just as fast using USBC? Are their long cables and blocks I can get, preferably, fast chargers that are compatible? Can I still get like the little headphone 3.5 dongles with the 15? This is important because I'd like to still do high quality demos from the phone with my studio setup that I have so will want that functionality. I know there are the camera kits out there but I'm not about to unplug my main system from the back of my mixer to plug that in. Sorry. Plus, I like to record straight into my daw if I'm doing demos and stuff like this. The only reason why I'm even thinking about the 15 is because of the onboard AI stuff that is coming out or, heard that is coming out and I've been hearing that you need a 15 or later, which, is dumb in my opinion. Apple being apple again. That's just something I've heard so don't ah, quote me on that Lol. Anyways, thanks in advanced.

Wait for the 16. It will be out in a few months. Several people are going to tell you how amazing the 15 is, especially the pro and/or Pro Max. I was sadly one of the special few who bought a brand new 15 Pro last year, only to have it brick from overheating.

I know a couple of people in my personal circle of friends/aquaintances who have had similar experiences.

So again, just wait on the 16.

If you decide to go with the 15 anyway, make sure you get insurance on it. Depending on your cellular provider, they may not honor you as a paying customer if, say, your iPhone 15 happens to be one of the special bricks Apple released last year.

HTH. 🤷

I think I am finishing paying my 13 pro from verizon. I am planning to get the 16 pro or pro max if I am able.

My understanding it was due to iOS and not the phone. I think that is no longer an issue. If not, sad for those who are dealing with it.

I too am waiting for the 16. This will be an upgrade from my 14.

I'd either get the iPhone 15 pro or wait on the iPhone 16. I've heard that the new AI features may only work on the 15 pro and newer since all other phones have less then 8 gigs of ram.

That is probably true, but starting from December 8, 2023 through the first week of January 2024, I bricked 2 brand new iPhone 15 Pros due to faulty software (or hardware. . . or both. . . )

There are plenty of USB C headphone dongles out there but you could also get headphones that support direct USB connections. I absolutely love my Senheiser Momentum 4 with my android phone, the app is inaccessible on both iOS and android but they sound way better than competing offerings at that price and you should be able to use them or something similar with the 15 or 16... but if you don't have the budget or desire for that you can get a cheap dongle for a few bucks or a USB C Dac for like 30 to 100. They do improve the sound a little but it's kind of overkill for me.
