Hi all. Well my question is in the subject line really. I do make use of the Mac's in-built messages app for sending and receiving iMessages, but as i write the only way i know of to delete them is by removing them one by one. Very tedious task if you've stupidly let them build up like i often do. Is there some quicker way to delete them all in one go, or some setting that can automatically clear them after a certain amount of time, or is Mac OS simply not that clever yet? ☺️ thanks.

Deleting messages automatically on macOS
While I don't believe there is any way to bulk-delete messages on macOS, you can configure the Messages app to automatically delete messages and conversations after a set period of time. To do this, choose Messages > Settings (or press Command-Comma) click the General button in the toolbar, and choose an option from the "Keep messages" popup menu.

Thanks tyler, i'll look for that. It never gets annoying on my iPhone since it's always with me so i can just clear conversations as soon as they're finished with, whereas on my Mac they just get forgotten about and left to accumulate to a ridiculous amount.
