Chromium browsers and NVDA

Typically I use the Firefox browser over anything else on Windows, because, for me, Firefox has always been a really good browser. However, I was messing around today with Edge, and noticed something I do not think I noticed before; alt plus left arrow (to go back a page) does not quite work. This only happens with NVDA, even without any add-ons running. There is an odd work-around, but it does not always seem to work. If I press F5 after pressing alt plus left arrow, the previous page will sometimes load, or reload.

Anyone else encounter this with Edge and NVDA, and better still, does anyone know of a fix?

Thanks in advance. :)

This only happens on some sites, from what I've been told from here, it's something to do with how the website is cashed.

Thanks for that info. I honestly did not know this was a thing before today, as I seldomly ever use Edge. I'm a Firefox fanboy through and through. 😇

Hey Brian, so technically I think it does work, but then you sometimes need to alt tab away, or just tab in to the page for that to reflect in NVDA. It happens to me on this site all the time. So, I'll use alt left arrow to go to previous page, but NVDA still seems to be reading what I was on before using alt left arrow, but, if I hit tab, it forces NVDA to refresh somehow, as the page has already loaded, but NVDA hasn't quite noticed or spotted it. Not sure if this makes sense, and it's not the most technical explanation, but it is what I have noticed. If I continue to alt left arrow, it takes me back even further, so that is how I ended up figuring this out.
HTH.

Yeah, I think I will stay with Firefox. I just don't have this problem with mozilla. 😔
