Extended Total Commander

I've noticed this app called Total Commander mentioned here and there, and as I understand it, it is an alternative File manager to File Explorer.

There is an add-on for NVDA users called Extended Total Commander.

Just wondering if anyone has given this a try and if so, how does it compare to File Explorer for Windows? 🙂

Hi Brian,
Personally I didn't like the app, there were things about it accessibility wise that bugged me. This NVDA add-on might fix things though and make it easier. Total Commander used to cost about $40 or maybe more. I don't know if that's still the case. I think some features like the file manager part might be free though. If you've had enough of Windows file explorer, I would give this a go. I know people who use it and swear by it. I trust their judgement.

Hey Tara,

I am too enamored by Windows 11 to be jaded on File Explorer just yet, but will keep it in mind for future use. 😇
