unwanted recent email addresses on iPhone

Hi all!
I know mail on iPhone keeps a list of recent addresses to make it easier to compose an email. I have a lot of these addresses that I no longer need and would like to get rid of them. I can't figure out how to do that. I thought there used to be an option to remove the address but I don't see it any longer.

If any body has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jim

After entering the first few characters of an email address in the β€œTo” field on the compose screen, you should be able to focus on a suggestion and choose the "remove" action from the Actions rotor. At least that's how it works for me.

That is how I remembered it but I don't seem to have actions to choose from. When I am entering an email address there is no list of suggestions. Maybe I'll be forced to call apple accessibility.

I noticed this a few weeks ago and haven't yet found a work-around.

The answer is to be found in the Window menu of the Mail app on macOS, the option called Previous Recipients. This appears to sync across devices, so if you select all the items and press Remove, they disappear from your iPhone.

Not, of course, a great help if you don't have that Mac ...

I do have a Mac and yesterday afternoon I cleared those off through the window menu and I haven't checked today to see if they've synced but I will definitely check it out. Thank you
