VoiceDream: where are older books kept?

I found all my newer bookshare books in the VoiceDream library in iCloud. I've looked on my phone, and I can't seem to find the older stuff, including one PDF file I'd really like to have. Any suggestions?

It seems to me that when you delete a file from Voice Dream, it is permanently deleted.

However, if the files are still in your library, you may be able to access them through a folder in the Files app.

My older books were converted to text, according to the library in Voicedream, and then made to go somewhere i can't find them. I guess programs must have special holding areas on the phone for their data, because I can't see any of Bard's data for example. All the newer stuff was on the phone and in iCloud as .zip folders, easy to copy off. The older stuff is nowhere, and you can't export the text, so I guess I just have to write down what is there.

If you connect your phone to your computer you should be able to access voice dreams other folders, but no idea if your books would be there as its been years since i've done this sort of stuff, but might be worth a go. I think it was under shared files or shared apps or something like that where you can select voice dream and look in the folders you don't have access in icloud, but not sure.

I don't know why you can't find them - all mine were under voice Dream/library, although I have to admit I don't sync with iCloud so all that was under On my iPad which in your case would be on my iPhone

All that asside, though, you should be able to export the files. Open it in voice dream and select the document option. Under that should be export original and export text and I think something else.

I have some pretty old stuff in my library, instead of daisy it says text format, and they won't export and I can't find out where they live either. Maybe if I haven't read them yet, I never will, but I'll make a list anyway.

As I said, this was a text document. Open the document in voice dream. Along the top of the screen there should be buttons labeled library, document, controls etc. If you tap on document, there should be export options.

If the item is old enough, all you can do is export text highlights.

I suspect at one time the daisy books were converted to plain text on import.

I'm officially grateful that I have never used Voice Dream or any other book reader app as my only location for books. I suppose you could try writing to the Authors of the app, but to have books in there that you can't get back is insane.
