If you like roguelikes and can stand the game/screen reader being a bit jumpy from time to time then you'll enjoy this game.

I think I've just decided that roguelikes aren't for me and that's ok because someone else will enjoy them.

I am undecided right now because I feel I need to understand this game a little better but, so far, what I know is that I still prefer Dawncaster.
One thing that I can say definitely is that sounds are not appealing to me.
I will keep trying to figure out how to play this a little longer although I don't think I will stay on this game.
Still, I am glad that there are more choices every day.

Choices are a great thing.

For those having trouble with this one, I'll say two things.
First, I've noticed several accessibility updates, which often add explanations to things that weren't explained previously, EG I now know how shiftlock works.

Second, one thing I really like is that this one is very much more a classic rpg in that you are expected to get creamed the first few times, but use the runes to upgrade your starting setup and come back stronger.

Unlockables make a massive difference, and I can say it felt great when I finally beat that first boss who'd previously been slaughtering me.

I'll admit this one is a bit impenetrable at first, and there are mechanics I'm still working out EG how to use some of those cards that play with skill shift, but I'm totally on board now, and would recommend anyone whose been having difficulties to stick with it, since this really does let you come back stronger each time.

No this isn't dawncaster, but it's not meant to be.

hey everyone!
Dark, congratulations for beating the first boss! i recommend unlocking new weapons first to experiment what you like the most, since each weapon represents a different class, giving you a completely new set of skills. you're just getting started, there's much more to discover. you'll be able to deal hundreds of damage per turn in the future.
also when you're in a reward screen, always check the skills being offered first, if you don't like them, each time you get the other rewards like gold, runes, items, iron, etc the skills are shuffled for new ones, so it's the best opportunity to get an awesome deck before the first boss and guarantee a good ammount of runes.

I tried it again and I find it repeats itself to much, what i mean is when you do what you do, you have to either wait for voiceover to speak or try to flick through it and it just takes to long for me.

I love this game. It feels so fun to play. I love how the interactions between the cards you play can cause some crazy damage, or other interesting things to happen. I wish this was more of a thing in other deck builders as well. This one and Lucky Mayor are my favorites out of the games I've tried in this category.

I didn't know that choosing the other rewards reshuffled the skills, that's handy.

I tried the madman's axe after it was recommended, however the self-harm damage there got crazy, and though I defeated the first boss with it, I died in the next fight, so I've mostly not been playing with different weapons, just improve with the iron axe.

Generally, I've been either trying to unlock new facilities, or things that will improve my starting out, particularly rune bonuses so I can max my long term loot, also unlocked one of the wills, since churches seem pretty frequent in villages and are a flat bonus.

Just unlocked the resources facility, and being able to start out with some extra iron will definitely be useful.

Furthest I've got so far was to the second boss, though got slaughtered by those sharks, mostly by the extra damage I kept taking every time I hit them thanks to their diving ability.

That's another thing I've noticed, not all bosses or zones are equal, or at least so it appears, since of the first three, imho the forest has the hardest boss, and the planes the easiest, with the meadow somewhere in the middle, then again this seems to be a game where in general the leap between bosses and normal enemies is pretty huge!

I'd like the game if it wasn't for that but I mean if I end my turn it takes such a long time to flick through all that's happend. For example it'll say wolf 19 damage, wolf 2 20 damange and so on, I find I have to flick through it to try and spead it up.

To the Droids among the Apple World (myself included), grab said accessible game with the same name over on Google Play, right over here 4.49 USD over where I am. FYI: Although I have not played the game myself, the latest fixes (translated from Japanese) include: Fixed an issue where skill exclusion cannot be selected from the deck when Screen Reader is enabled and skill exclusion cannot be selected at the start of battle

hey! @brad to interrupt speech just tap with two fingers a few times and all the messages are going to be skipped.
thanks so much for linking to the android version@trenton matheus! i've reported almost 10 bugs to this fantastic developer and he fixes the reported issues in the same day, it's unbelievable how he can code so fast! he's so talented! the game is fully working, a friend of mine managed to beat it a few times.

I'll give it another go.

This game does have a lot of information, even compared to something like dawncaster, but a lot is relevent to what you need to know, EG if an enemy activates flying, it drastically reduces the damage you do, so I don't mind too much myself.

The only major problem I have, is still working out what synergises with what or how best to activate certain skills, particularly since occasionally the descriptions are worded in a slightly odd way.

For example with the "break", skill, it says "combination shield 3", and that this means it'll work if it's in chain 2 and "the other skill", is in chain 3.
What it actually means, is not that you need break in chain 2 and another skill in chain 3, but that if break is in chain 2, it'll give! you an extra 3 shield in chain 3, whatever skill you use.

The thing I really like with this one, is the feeling of progress however much you get slaughtered! and that that progress really does pay off.
