Apple Music: Lyrics are inaccessible with VoiceOver

Hello team, I hope you are well.

I noticed that the lyrics of the songs are no longer accessible to VoiceOver and Apple Music users, this from iOS 17.4. To check the problem, just play any song and use the lyrics button at the bottom of the player. It will be possible to see that the letters are read only as buttons.

I ask for correction for this problem, only then will we be able to follow the lyrics of our favorite songs again.

I hope this email is of great help. We are waiting for correction and thank you for your work.

Cordially,

Ricardo Brandão

Hi,
For some reason I haven't been able to figure out, this isn't the case on every song.
For example, the song "Fly" by Maddie & Tae has accessible lyrics, while some others in my library do not.

I am having the same issue. For me the lyrics are inaccessible. I reported this issue to Apple.

It was a year or so ago, before I got my eReader. I'll have to try this again, but I've never gotten the lyrics to display properly.

Another song that works for me is "Leave the Pieces" by The Wreckers, while Open Arms by Journey (the 2022 remix) appears to show the no lyrics issue.
Is anyone able to confirm that the songs I've listed show lyrics for them as well?

Hi,
I have just reported this bug to Apple accessibility & also found a workaround.
If Voiceover isn't reading the lyrics for a particular song & you'd like to have them for later or share them, this can be done.
If you double-tap & hold or triple tap, this brings up a text view of the lyrics.
Simply use your "Text selection" rotor item & choose, "select all" from the options then swipe right with 1 finger.
This will select all the text. You can then put it into notes, text it to yourself or someone else or even share it on social media.
Please let me know if this works for you or if you need assistance with the process.

thanks to your instructions I was able to read the lyrics of the song. Now the problem is that you cannot copy because the selected item does not appear in the rotor.

I've found that newer songs' lyrics are available but older songs are not. If you double-tap on the Lyrics button, it just becomes dimmed. I'll give your work-around a try the next time I try to get an older song's words.

Another tip:

Go to: Accessibility > Voiceover > Voiceover recognition > Image recognition .

Turn Image recognition on.
