Hi
Talkback 14.2 is rolling out.
What's new: more braille display commands for hedding, link, controls and stopping talkback speech, image descriptions can be for all images or just unlabeled images, it also talks about answering and ending phone calls with the two finger double tap but that's been there for a very long time, spell check has bin renamed to proofread and can check for grammer
That's all, enjoy

I'm especially interested in those Braille display commands, hopefully I get the update soon.

Thanks for this but that's been in there for a while. Gotta love marketing. I can't wait for something like the VO gesture commander so I can make a command for next level 3 heading, previous check box etc.

I know answering calls by double tapping with two fingers has been there forever but I don't remember those Braille display commands being there before, I don't have a braille display though so don't really go in there that much

Moving to next heading, previous control etc came out with their better Braille support in I think talkback 13. Sorry for the confusion I was only talking about the Braille display stuff. Still I'm sure they've worked on that a bit under the hood too.

Like I said I don't have a braille display so I never go in to check the commands, I just went in there because it mentioned that in the what's new section

Also typing is slower sometimes, especially on this form, I don't think it's anything wrong with this website, cuz it was working fine before but now it's slower sometimes but then it does fix itself, but then it is slower than usual again, very strange

I'm sure it'll be a bit before it hits galaxy phones that haven't been switched over to google talkback. I do look forward to more gestures in the Braille keyboard.

It will be a while, 6 months probably or around there

That screen reader was called voice assistant

And the best part, you could use google talkback without uninstalling anything

I don't even think TB 14.1 is out for Galaxy devices yet though. Any idea on how much longer that will be? I have yet to pair my phone with my focus 40 blue, so I'm not all that worried about the extra Braille display features, but I really do want the the extra gestures for the Braille keyboard.

Samsungs version of talkback is 14.1

You just need android 14 to see the stuff that is in 14.1

I know its a confusing mess lol

I just checked and I am indeed on Android 14, but still haven't seen the new gestures in the tb Braille keyboard. I checked for updates in the samsung store and nothing came up. Also checked for system updates and everything is up to date.

Is there any way to make jishuo gestures more like tb, but still let us take advantage of the stuff jishuo has that tb doesn't? Does it also have a Braille keyboard? I used Jishuo back in its infancy but that's been a very long time ago, and for my sanity, I would like to keep things as close to tb as possible but it sounds like Jishuo has some pretty cool stuff.

Samsungs version of talkback is on 14.1 and probly won’t get updated for a wile so if you want the new stuff you need to switch to googles talkback

I wrote a guide on doing this, its on this sight somewhere

Yes you can make the gestures be like talkback

If using jieshuo, among its settings under Download additional resources & Gesture scheme, there's so many talkback gesture schemes, it can be a bit overwhelming.

I do have my own hardware keyboard layout i made, but I'll make a separate topic for that.

Before I jump to conclusions, is it accurate to say that braille support still does not exist with the jieshuo screen reader? Yeah, those braille display keyboard commands have been around since 13. So, swing and a miss from Google. They strike out more than any baseball player on record when it comes to braille support. THank you for sharing this.

There is no braille support with csr, you can install soft Braille keyboard if you really want to and use that but I've tried it once and I don't really like it, I thought that there was at least one new Braille display command with this update called pause speech? The one that's just seven and eight, or is that been there this whole time? I didn't notice it when I looked through the commands and talk back 13
