Speaker assistant is available in the AppStore

Hi there. Thanks for posting about this app. I think it has potential to help me with presentations at work.
I wonder though, is there an app for Windows and/or Mac, or perhaps a web portal? While the iPhone will work well for delivering the speech or presentation, I feel it would be an awful lot easier and more efficient to create them on my computer. If I’ve to spend hours creating them on the iPhone, that reduces the benefit for me.
Also, just an FYI, the label on the ‘Next note’ button is spelt wrong, and therefore also pronounced wrong by VoiceOver.

This looks like a genuinely well thought through and useful app. I’m very impressed. I think this may become something I use when speaking. Autocue for blind and low vision people. Highly customisable, great tutorial. What a great app.

However my work computer is a Windows laptop. I don’t suppose there’s a Windows app or web option is there? If not, I can still use my personal Mac, just not quite as seamlessly ☺️

In an ideal world I would have the option to use a Mac at work, but the poor state of Microsoft 365 apps for VoiceOver users means it’s not possible. But yes, perhaps I can use my own MacBook for tasks like this.

I would probably deem it would be considered off-topic and not ask about it otherwise, but since it has already been requested, let me tell you that an overwhelming majority or both sighted and blind users use Windows PC's, so a Windows version or a cross-platform web version would be great for Android users as well.

I really like this. I’m going to be doing some presenting next week and should find this really useful.
It would be useful if it was possible to import a Word document with the presentation wording as you intend to speak it but your app then divides up the speech into separate notes for each line break that has been entered into the word document. Hopefully that makes sense

I'm a barrister (that's a trial attorney in america) and a senior law lecturer. Professionally, I've been making speeches and giving presentations pretty much every day for the last 19 years. add in mock trials, debating and political activism, the last of which is currently on pause, and you can make that 25 years. I've my own method of working using a Braille display and am very, verry set in my ways in terms of how I present. it takes an awful lot to make me consider whether there's a better way of doing things, from my own point of view.

And yet, this app has done precisely that. teh fact that I am thinking of downloading it and giving it a shot is testament to how good it looks. i will certainly give it a try in a forthcoming lecture or webinar and see how I get on.

One question: does this app interface with one's Powerpoint slides at all? Or am I going to have to have one Braille display showing my Powerpoint slides while another displays autocues generated by the app? I'd be using IOS to run this app, but will often need to support a lecture with slides for the benefit of visual learners.

It's unfortunate that, reading between the lines, Powerpoint integration will only work as between Mac and iPhone. I use Office in a Windows environment. even if I didn't, my company and my company laptop does. So it seems this might not be a practical choice for lectures. I will, nevertheless, take a look.

This app sounds excellent. I'm a pastor and present lectures 200+ days a year. I've been searching for something like this for sometime.

However, since I am still on MacOS 13 Ventura, I am not able to install.

I can't upgrade to Sonoma due to horrible VoiceOver support. It's far worst than Ventura. So I am stuck.

Is it possible to allow for installation on older MacOS versions?

I'm sure many would be truly grateful.

I just wanted to congratulate the Dev for creating a well-thought-out app for the blind community. While I have no particular use for this in my daily life, professionally or otherwise, I will say I very much wish I had this or something like it back in college.

I've had to give a few presentations, and it is considerably more challenging with our technological limitations.

So once more, great job! I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. 😁👍

Hi there. This app is great. Thanks so much. It is just what i'm after. Just a bit confused about the remote functionality. Is this purely to control the mac version of speaker assistant or is it to control MS powerpoint or something like that?

I can definitely see how this could be useful, except that I don't have the time to type notes into this app after composing my presentation and developing speaking notes. The ability to import text all at once, and having it put into notes would be critical for me.

This is a great idea, so I hope you find the way for users to import text. Best of luck.

Thanks for listening. I do think that the ability to import text into notes will make this an App I use almost daily. I suggest you pick one character, and when that is entered into a document, the app knows to make a new note. That way, I could type up all my notes, import the document from a file, and have the 20 or so notes I might need.
