VoiceOver and espeak ng bug (urgent help)

I played the Dawncaster RPG. At one point, I tried to open the app switcher by swiping one finger from the bottom of the screen to the top. That's when my VoiceOver got disrupted. I normally use an iPhone 14 with the system language set to Croatian. I use eSpeak NG as the speech synthesis, with the voice Max. The problem occurred when it started speaking in Croatian using the voice Lana instead of Max. I went to the accessibility settings to change it, but it shows that the speech synthesis is eSpeak NG, voice Max, even though Lana is reading the screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling eSpeak NG, but every time I set it to use Max, Lana reads the screen while it shows Max is selected. I attempted to restart the phone, but it didn't help. I also changed the system language to English, and in the VoiceOver settings, it says that eSpeak NG Max is selected, but it still uses an English female voice. Please provide some suggestions on what I could do to resolve this issue.

Restarting the device or even just reselecting eSpeak-NG fixes the issue for me, but the voice sometimes does switch to Yelda (the female Turkish Vocalizer voice) for no apparent reason, and VoiceOver becomes unresponsive.

This bug is happening with lots of voices all over the world. Apple are investigating it, but the best way to get this prioratised is for everyone affected to email accessibility@apple.com

One other thing you could try is adding your prefered voice as both the default language and also as a rotor language, then hopefully one will work.

Hello,
Why not use the already presented voices of VoiceOver? they're really good on some levels, especially Alex. I just wish I knew who that man really was. For example, if you tone the pitch down to like 10%, you can hear that he sounds similar to but not exactly like Peter Cullen, no not Edward Cullen's brother but the voice for our favorite autobot, Optimus Prime/he's my favorite, anyway. However, I don't think Mr. Cullen's middle name's Alex, so maybe, he went by a different name somehow? Yet, if you tone Alex's pitch down to that level, all of VO is done likewise. I'd just like the man's voice to be at 10/everyone else to be at the normal level now, like 50 or something like that!

Wanting to comment on everything is great, but making off-topic posts here and there, asking abundant questions or making statements about stuff one does not know enough about, may not be the best thing to make others continue helping and responding willingly. I would also say the voices were great if I used Alex or some other English voice as the default one, but certain folks here still have to come to acknowledge the fact that not everyone speaks English as his/her mother tongue, nor is the world comprised solely of the US, Anglophone countries, or certain countries/regions collectively referred to as the West or the developed world, whatever those mean.

Ashley,, it's great that you like Alex, I do too, but as Enes said, not everyone speaks English and so please try and remember that for next time.

Strange bug. I'm happy that I don't experience it, using the espeak variant with voiceiver in espeak synthesizer, the phone's langauge is set to Russian, btw.
