One of deafblind members of our community brought us her iPhones so that we could perfom certain maintenance tasks she requested. One of them is iPhone 5S and second is iPhone SE 2022.
Both devices lost connection to her Braille display and both provide no speech, only VO sounds can be heard. Since we never faced such issue before we are puzzled and have no idea what might cause this. I know about sound curtain feature in lates iOS, but this is not a case since all sounds are working except VoiceOver speech.
If someone here has any idea of what might happen, please, let us know.
Thanks in advance/

VO ceased talking
The first thought that came to mind was doing the three-finger double tap. If this doesn't solve the problem, check the following link for more solutions:

Have you tried
Hi have you tried a 3 finger double tap? That turns vo on and off but keeps all other sounds/gestures.
You need to turn off voiceover and turn it on again.
It's a bug in Voiceover and IOS.
You need to either tell siri to turn off voiceover, then turn it back on again, or to set up the tripple tap gesture to turn it on and off again.
At least I assume that's what it is, I'm not a braille user but have experienced this bug.
Old hardware might be at fault
If she has a 5S, and whatever display she's using it might need to be updated, as well as both phones to the latest system it can handle. With the old five, I'm guessing IOs eight, which might have longstanding issues with a display that might be much newer then that technology. The SE after updating, I know there's a different way of connecting. It's something like Accessibility, braille, after Voice over, and connecting a display that way. It's no longer, just using the Bluetooth connection to pare it.
