Adding a contact on iPhone using Siri Shortcut

Has anyone been able to create a Siri Shortcut to add a Contact (first name, last name, phone number) - since apple doesn't allow that using Siri? I saw one video that was created 2 years ago, but it's out of date and the instructions don't work with my iPhone 14. I've searched the web and can't find this anywhere, but it seems like something a programmer might have figured out by now. :-) It would be great to say "Hey Siri - Add contact" and have her ask for "First name, last name, phone number" and allow voice input and then add the contact.

One cannot add or delete contacts through this method.

Well, there's definitely an add contact shortcuts action. If you create some get input actions to ask for first name, last name and phone number, then drag the add contact action in, and then fill in the fields with those variables, it should work with Siri asking you for the information. Make sure if you try this you add the action, then one finger flick down until it says more and double tap that, so the other contacts fields appear.

Let me know if this helps, or I can put together a quick example Shortcut.

Thanks Yvonnezed for the quick response. Yes, could you please put together a quick example - that would be great.

I did try this, but due to a slight weirdness with the Add Contacts action in Shortcuts, it looks like you can't specify a variable for the phone number for some reason. In other words, I can prompt for it, but there's no way to put the variable in.

If you either have or want to pay for the app Toolbox Pro, its add contact will let you do this, along with a bunch of other stuff. I bought it ages ago though, so I have no idea how much it costs.
