Brailliant Series Same as eReader?

Hi everyone. Subject pretty much says it. I'd like a clarification on something having to do with Humanware's Braille displays. Is their NLS eReader identical to/the same as their Brailliant series? I ask because I'm having a heck of a time connecting my eReader to USB. My brother seems to have done it when he and I were at our parents' place for Christmas. But the positioning was such that it made things a bit difficult. He came into the bedroom where I was. At the time I was sitting in a chair that was situated kitty-corner to my blow-up mattress. I briefly felt some other Braille on the device which wasn't present before, but then it disappeared. Then last night I connected one end of the charging/USB cable to the USB port on my M1 MacBook Air. That was the end which is more rounded off. The other end--the flatter end--was plugged into the front port on the left side of my eReader. I first powered up my MBA, then powered on the eReader. On My Mac I went into the VoiceOver Utility with VO-F8, and then to the Braille category. I then selected the Displays tab, while my eReader was at the USB prompt. But still no Braille displays appear in the table. Wi-Fi is turned on, and all blue-tooth is off. Everything else seems to work fine. Any further assistance greatly appreciated. Btw, the desk chair at my apartment is on wheels, so I can easily roll around in here. My apologies if some of this is off-topic, but I don't know where else to turn since tech support for these eReaders is not yet solidified.

Hi,
The Humanware Ereader does not have the speech component that the Brailiant series has. As far as connecting the device goes you may need a usb c to usb c cable if that is the only port you have on your mac. On the ereader you need to connect the smaller end of the cable to the port towards the rear left side of your device directly behind the power button. Once connected you may see the display saying charging. You will then need to go to the braille display option and enter on it. Next you will need to enter on connected devices and then enter again on usb connection. Once done, you may need to restart voiceover. I hope this helps.
Happy New Year!!!
