Supersense - AI for Blind

Perhaps it wasn't the smartest move in light of current circumstances, but I already bought the lifetime subscription for this app. My thinking is that it's great to have a variety of these apps because some will do better than others depending on the situation. I like that this one functions similarly to seeing AI; no need to press buttons or anything to have it start reading whatever the camera sees.

I just downloaded it today and it seems to be very good. I have to see if I have any more iTunes gift cards because I think so. If I do I'm probably upgrading to one of the subscription plans once my trial expires. But I have Seeing AI and now this. I just downloaded Judy Dixon's "Getting Visual Assistance with an iPhone", and will get plenty of practice between her great book and these 2 apps.

This app is great. it figures out what I want to scan, gives efficient scanning guidance, and reads it with the best accuracy I've ever seen in a scanning app. Great work, keep it up!

I already have Envision AI which I found to be one of the best. This, Envision and Seeing AI all seem to do the same thing. THis one seems less complicated, but I don't really find either of the others complicated anyway. What makes this one better? Is it more accurate? Or is it just different? EIther way it's nice to have a new one.

Hi all.. When this came out, I did a few tests. some of which were poor, I blame my acuracy. However when I tested a 20 which I knew was right, the recognition was terrible. I pointed this out politely and was assured it would be fixed. I don't think I'll ever get used to the idea of the subscription model. So I wish them well, but unless there was a major update I couldn't live without, I'd smile and keep reading. And if the currency reader was fixed, all the more power to them.

I really love how intuitive this app is and how great a job it does with reading text. This is definitely earned a permanent spot in my phone.

Others in Europe are able to download it?

This is in no way to criticize this app, but how does this differ from apps like TapTapSee, Seeing AI, Envision AI, Voice Dream Scanner, and other apps designed for this purpose?

I just downloaded this app and so far I love it! I think it will be my go to app. It blows seeingAI out of the water! Wish I had this app earlier! The reason why I never got it was because I was under the impression it only worked on newer Iphones.

I saw this app is on sale again so I opened it up and I think it now has some ai stuff built in like scene description. Has anyone tried this?

It still seems a lot of money when there are so many good free options. Is there anything that sets it apart from the others?

I have had this app for some years now and I can honestly say that the new image descriptions are much improved. It is a shame that such descriptions cannot be obtained of photographs already on the device. If you import an image or access it via the Share Sheet it will not describe the photo.

I understand that without the accompanying image it is difficult to judge the result, but here’s a description I received using my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The image shows an outdoor scene taken during the day under an overcast sky. In the foreground, there is a rough tarmac surface with visible cracks and patches of grass growing through. Beyond the tarmac is an area of grass with uneven, taller patches suggesting it has not been mowed recently.

Wow, yet another app that does AI descriptions! And a somewhat familiar one at that. I'm definitely checking it out again once I get that new phone and am up and running with it. My personal assistant just hooked up a tabletop lamp today which I got for Christmas, so I think I'll have better luck scanning things. He and I tried out the lamp and it works like it should. I must admit I prefer these free apps for the stated reason, and since I'm hoping to get at least one other paid app. I also got another Apple gift card for Christmas.

The way it writes descriptions is very much like that service.

I've tried the app again and was impressed that it was able to get some things but it's not worth me buying it because it wasn't able to scan little tiny bottles and circle containers, they had cream and other things in them.

These apps are great but perhaps a stand alone thing will do the trick in the future. I'm imagining a robot arm/clamp that you put the item in and it scans for you, doing a 3d scan, and is able to find the barcode straight away.

I'd prefer it on the phone of course, but I have issues with my hands so having something to hold the item for me would be amazing.

Have you tried Be My AI? If so, how does it compare? Hopefully they will add share sheet support soon as it is really useful.
I'm still not sure what sets this app apart from the free alternatives. I tried it the other day when trying and failing to identify something with seeing ai. Neither worked in this case but super sense did seem a bit quicker. And I like the funky music it plays.

I'm wondering if this app would be any use finding stuff I drop, like keys, a pill or a tube of toothpaste. No, I don't drop things that often, probably because it's a royal pain to find stuff after I've drop it, but having an app that would spare me from having to crawl all around on the floor, sweeping my hands back and forth, would be a big plus.

The problem is, it's crap. I tried to find a door with it and it just didn't work.
