Hi all. I just got my nls ereader today, the zoom max version, not the humanware version. When trying to pair the ereader with my phone or iPad I was given the message that the ereader couldn't pair with either device. I entered the pin given in the user guide, turned bluetooth off and back on, as well as restarted both devices, with no luck. My iPad is running the latest IOS while my phone is still on IOS sixteen. Can somebody please help me get the ereader paired to my phone or iPad, it doesn't matter what device. Thanks in advance.

I have the same eReader and…
I have the same eReader and I use it with my iPhone all the time. Are you trying to pair through the bluetooth setting or through VoiceOver? You have to pair by going to settings, accessibility, VoiceOver, and then braille. You should find an option that says choose a braille display, and if everything is working correctly, it should say NLS eReader with a bunch of numbers. If that doesn't work you may have to restart the eReader and maybe restart whatever device you're hooking it up to. Sometimes I've had to restart it a couple times to get it to work. If that still doesn't work, you might want to call your local Library for the Blind and see if they can send you a replacement.
got eereader to pair, but now can't navigate phone with braille
i all. I was able to get my ereader to pair with my phone, but now I'm having another issue. I can't get the braille display to advance when navigating something on my phone that's more than 2- cells in lenghth. I press the round button in the middle at the bottom, of the navigation keys, the one that looks like a big circle. That seems to navigate to display, but all the way to the end of whatever app I'm using, so I end up missing all of the text. How can I fix this?
You don't want to press that…
You don't want to press that circle. The panning button is D5 for forwards and D2 for backwards. If you look at the part of the display where the dots are, there are 3 buttons on each side that go straight up and down like a braille cell. The buttons on the left are called D1, D2, and D3, and the ones on the right are Dbled, D5, and D6. D2 and D5 are the panning buttons. I hope that was clear. It's a bit harder to explain since I can't physically show you. And sorry for the typo. I use US braille, not UEB, and I think the translator just wrote something weird.
Anyone getting autoscroll to work?
I've got the eReader where I want it, but even when enabled, and speed set to 1.0 I can't figure out why it won't go to the next line. Plus, is anyone else annoyed when you see a word or two on a blank line? I have the settings pretty much the default as I got them. Contact me off here if this is off topic.
